The density interface effect on y-ray intensities resulting from a point source has been measured at 0.66 and 1.25 MeV. Source-detector separations from about 10 to 900 meters were employed. A phenomenological representation is suggested of this effect, based on a 2-dimensional diffusion equation, which reasonably describes the behavior both of our results and those of others.
