Glomangioma is very rare lesion in extradigital location. They are usually associated with multiple and familial lesion. Glomangioma as with glomus tumour also presents with hypersensitivity to cold, severe pain and pinpoint tenderness to blunt palpation. Glomus tumours have not been observed in individuals who are less than one year of age (glomus bodies form after that age) or in elderly pers...

Glomangiomas are a variant of benign glomus tumours; glomus tumours are benign neoplastic proliferations of the glomus body, which is made up of perivascular smooth muscle cells. This forms arteriovenous anastomoses which play an important role in vascular regulation of skin temperature. The aim of this article is to describe 2 cases of hereditary glomangiomas.

Glomus tumors showing nuclear pleomorphism without any other malignant features have been defined as symplastic glomus tumors. This type of glomus tumor is rarely encountered. Another case of symplastic glomus tumor is described in this study. A 37-year-old woman referred to the hospital with the complaint of a palpable tender nodule on the fourth finger tip of her left hand. The lesion had bee...

Most glomus tumours occur in the dermis and subcutaneous tissues. Lung glomus tumours are quite rare. The current authors present the first reported case of a lung-derived glomangiomyoma, the rarest variant of glomus tumour. A 56-yr-old female was admitted with haemoptysis. Chest computed tomography showed an ,5-cm-diameter mass in the right lower lobe with mucoid impaction. After a right lower...

Glomus tumor (glomus cell tumor) is a rare, hamartomatous, usually benign neoplasm, whose cells resemble the modified smooth muscle cells of the normal glomus body. The diagnosis of a lower extremity is often delayed, due to the lack of awareness and low level of suspicion, by the treating physician. The glomus tumor (GT) often involves the nail beds. The unusual location of the lower extremity...

Glomus tumors are usually benign tumors that occur in the skin and soft tissues of the extremities. Visceral locations, such as stomach, intestines or lung, are extremely rare because glomus bodies are rare or absent in these organs. This report describes our experience in a 47-year-old woman diagnosed with a peritoneal malignant glomus tumor. This finding has not been previously reported.

Glomus tumors arise from the glomus body, a neuro-arterial structure that regulates the body temperature. Most common site is the skin and superficial soft tissues of the distal extremities, especially the subungual region. Up to 10 % of patients may have multiple lesions. Rare anatomic sites include bone, particularly phalanges, stomach, mediastinum and lung. The head and neck region is a rare...
