Identifying gene mutations in individual tumors is critical to improve the efficacy of cancer therapy by matching targeted drugs to specific mutations. Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) are stromal or mesenchymal subepithelial neoplasms affecting the gastrointestinal tract and frequently contain activating gene mutations in either KIT or platelet-derived growth factor A (PDGFRA). Although ...
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are rare tumors of the gastrointestinal system and comprise only 1% to 3% of all gastrointestinal tract tumors, with the majority of them arising in the stomach. In this report, we present the unique findings of a case of gastroduodenal intussusception caused by an underlying gastric GIST and complicated with severe acute pancreatitis.
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract and are predominant in the stomach and intestine but rare in the esophagus. Here, we report a case of esophageal GIST which presented as a mediastinal mass on chest X-ray and dyspnea. The case was initially diagnosed as leiomyosarcoma, which could create a diagnostic dilemma. Therefore, ...

That is, children created more false memories than adults when scenes had to be remembered. In Experiment 1, 7/8-year-olds had higher false memory rates than adults when using visual scenes. Experiment 2 showed that gist cuing could not ac...
This article presents two experiments investigating the degree to which listeners can detect changes in melodies. In both studies, pairs of melodies were presented to a group of professional musicians and a group of non-musicians. In Experiment 1, musical structure and musical expertise were explored with stylistic, non-stylistic, and random melodies. Experiment 2 utilized a full-factorial desi...
Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal malignancy of the gastrointestinal tract. PET/CT is a common diagnostic tool and is also used for therapy monitoring. GISTs typically show strong (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake. Here we present two cases of GIST with unusually low/negative FDG uptake. FDG negativity does not preclude the diagnosis of a GIST.
Liposarcoma is the most common malignant soft tissue tumor in adults. Extremities and retroperitoneum are sites of involvement liposarcoma. gastrointestinal tract rare colon an extremely uncommon site. Mesenchymal tumors bowel mainly represented by stromal (GIST). A sixty-one-year-old male patient presented with abdominal pain distension. Contrast-enhanced computerized tomography (CECT) showed ...
