A case of factitious illness in a young village woman is described. She presented with multiple physical and psychiatric symptoms and had interpersonal and sexual problems. A simple behavioural approach was successful in ameliorating her symptoms.

Munchausen syndrome, a chronic factitious disorder with physical symptoms, also called hospital hoboes or hospital addiction, is an uncommon psychiatric disorder, usually presents as an emergency. The correct recognition of the syndrome is important in medical practice. A brief review with an interesting case report is presented.

We report a 43-year-old woman with early-onset Parkinson's disease in whom neurological control was impaired by psychiatric co-morbidity including major depression and panic disorder.
