A case of factitious illness in a young village woman is described. She presented with multiple physical and psychiatric symptoms and had interpersonal and sexual problems. A simple behavioural approach was successful in ameliorating her symptoms.

Munchausen syndrome, a chronic factitious disorder with physical symptoms, also called hospital hoboes or hospital addiction, is an uncommon psychiatric disorder, usually presents as an emergency. We report a 43-year-old woman with early-onset Parkinson's disease in whom neurological control was impaired by psychiatric co-morbidity including major depression and panic disorder.
