The aphid genus Parathoracaphis Takahashi, 1958 is reviewed. Parathoracaphis spinapilosasp. n., found on Quercus sp. and on an unidentified species of Fagaceae in China is described and illustrated. A generic diagnosis and a key to Parathoracaphis species are presented.
