To remedy the problems caused by the introduction of an additional electron mediator and realize signal amplification, a new strategy has been presented to construct an electrochemical aptasensor for thrombin detection based on the cascade electrocatalysis of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) and Pt nanoparticle (PtNP)-functionalized ZnO nanoflowers.
Arrays of aligned multi-walled carbon nanotube-ionic liquid (MIL) were assembled on silicon wafers (Si-MIL). Formation of Si-MIL was confirmed by FTIR, AFM and Raman techniques. Macroscale and nanoscale measurements of epinephrine electro-oxidation at graphite electrodes, with different step edge densities, demonstrate unequivocally that the reaction occurs readily at the basal surface, and that step edges are not required for molecular electrocatalysis, in contrast to the current literature model.
The pyridine-rich complex [NiII(LN2Py3)(MeCN)](ClO4)2 (1) acts as an efficient electro- and photocatalyst in the generation of H2 from water.
