Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) promise a short energypayback time and offer a potential lowcost alternative to conventional photovoltaic devices based on semiconductors. This work describes the effort which has mainly been developed on DSSC solar cells with suitable dye for light harvesting and interfacial electron transfer processes with nano crystalline wide band-gap semiconductors. The ph...

We use free-standing TiO2 nanotube membranes that are transferred onto FTO slides in front-side illuminated dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). We investigate the key parameters for solar cell arrangement of self-ordered anodic TiO2 nanotube layers on the FTO substrate, namely the influence of the annealing procedure on the DSSC light conversion efficiency. The results show that using an optima...

To reduce costs, a low-cost thin-film solar cell technique known as the Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC)/Gratzel emerged. DSSC is an easy to manufacture photovoltaic but lacks its stability and higher conversion efficiency factors. In this paper, overcome these challenges keep cost factor on trial, photogalvanic was also studied using H-shaped glass tube. Both cells were dyes Erythrosin B, Tart...

Mangosteen peel is an inedible portion of a fruit. We are interested in using these residues as components of a dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC). Carbonized mangosteen peel was used with mangosteen peel dye as a natural counter electrode and a natural photosensitizer, respectively. A distinctive mesoporous honeycomb-like carbon structure with a rough nanoscale surface was found in carbonized ma...

We have synthesized soluble TiOPc derivatives containing alkoxy groups for use as additives in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The DSSC devices containing these TiOPc derivatives exhibited short-circuit current densities of 8.49~10.04 mA/cm(2) and power conversion efficiencies of 2.73~3.62 % under AM 1.5 illumination and 100 mW/cm(2) irradiation.

We report the first case of Ru(II) dipyrrinates employed as dyes in dye-sensitized solar cells. These complexes exhibit panchromatic light harvesting that results in significant DSSC current densities, rendering them promising for photovoltaic applications. Adjustment of the lowest excited state energy is required to boost the power conversion efficiency.

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are fabricated using a novel 3C-SiC/TiO(2) nanocomposite as a photoelectrode to enhance the power conversion efficiency. Compared with a pristine nanocrystalline TiO(2) cell, a DSSC based on a 3C-SiC (0.04 wt%)/TiO(2) nanocomposite photoelectrode shows ~115% increase in power conversion efficiency.

In the current work, we have explored a novel synthetic route towards metalated porphycenes and their use in p-type NiO-based dye-sensitized solar cells. Particular emphasis is placed on the influence that the relative positioning of the anchoring group exerts on the DSSC performance.

The most efficient dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have had essentially the same configuration (nanoparticle TiO2 sensitized with [Ru(4,4 -dicarboxy-2,2-bipyridine)2(NCS)2] in contact with I3 /I ) for the last 17 years. In this article we outline the strategies for improving each of the three major photo-relevant components of a DSSC, review literature reports consistent with these strategie...

Wurtzite and kesterite Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) nanocrystals were employed as counter electrode (CE) materials for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Compared to kesterite CZTS, the wurtzite CZTS exhibited higher electrocatalytic activity for catalyzing reduction of iodide electrolyte and better conductivity. Accordingly, the DSSC with wurtzite CZTS CE generated higher power conversion efficiency (6.8...
