The coupled motion of the vortex lattices of two electrically insulated, superimposed, superconducting thin films Cprimary and secondary) in a perpendicular magnetic field, is predicted to exhibit a Josephson-like behavior. For a dc applied current flowing in the primary film, the voltage difference between the time-averaged primary and secondary flux flow voltages obeys the equations of a resi...

The paper investigates the influence of the time-dependent external conditions on the stability criterion of the critical state in a hard superconductor with respect to flux jumps. It has been shown that the existence of a non-linear region in the current-voltage characteristic can result in a significant delay of the onset of the instability. The methods developed in this paper make it possibl...

The drift-diffusion (Poisson-Nernst-Planck) model is applied to ionic channels in biological membranes plus surrounding solution baths. Simulations of the K channel in KCl solutions using the TRBDF2 method are presented which show significant boundary layers at the ends of the channel. The computed current-voltage curve for the K channel shows excellent agreement with experimental measurements.

Experimental I(V) characteristics of a lattice are reported. Each bond of the lattice is a non linear resistor characterized by a threshold 03C5g for the potential drop below which it becomes an insulator. If the thresholds are randomly distributed, the current I flowing through the lattice is a quadratic function of the voltage V, as predicted by Roux and Herrmann. J. Physique 48 (1987) 1609-1...

The ballistic regime gives the upper limit of an electron device performance. This paper proposes a fast and efficient model for calculating the current–voltage characteristic of a cylindrical nanowire within the framework of the non-equilibrium Green’s function. Under certain assumptions, the calculation is simplified to a one-dimensional problem and the modes due to the radial confinement are...

We use a glass-based microfluidic device to study the electric current behavior of an electrospray process in the presence of a coflowing liquid. The current shows strong voltage dependence and weak flow rate dependence, in stark contrast to classical electrospray. By considering that the current is dominated by convection near the apex of the conical meniscus and driven by tangential electric ...

In this paper previous works on calculating the output current of SBCNFET are reviewed and a new three capacitance model for estimating potential profile along the channel is proposed. Furthermore the transmission coefficient through the channel has studied and some new formulas considering the electron coherency in the channel are suggested. Electron coherency will results in resonant transmis...

The properties of a partially ionized plasma in a long cylindrical tube subject to a uniform axial electric eld are investigated. The plasma is maintained by an external ionizing source balanced by bulk and surface recombinations. Collisions between neutrals, whose density greatly exceeds the density of charged particles, and of neutrals with ions are suuciently eeective for their velocity dist...
