INTRODUCTION Systemic embolisation of stents represents a rare complication of coronary interventions. REPORT The case of a patient with peripheral embolisation of a coronary stent while undergoing a coronary procedure for an ischaemic event is reported. The stent lodged at a previously created iatrogenic fistula joining the profunda femoral artery and the common femoral vein. An endovascular...
A group of patients With coronary artery disease have been studied preoperatively and after surgical creation of an arteriovenous fistula between the descending aorta and coronary sinus (Beck II, revascularization operation). Preoperatively, basal studies of cardiac output and blood volume were done with radioisotope technics. Postoperatively, catheterization studies of cardliovascular function...
In this case report, we describe a 71-year-old woman with right conal coronary artery-to-pulmonary trunk fistula. She visited the outpatient clinic of the nephrology department for long-term management of renal dysfunction. On transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) conducted as a part of cardiac evaluation, an abnormal Doppler color flow taking a course toward echocardiographic probe was incident...
The percutaneous transfemoral approach has been routinely used for cardiac catheterization and coronary angioplasty. Local vascular complications following angioplasty are seen in 5% to 10% of patients, especially in those who need prolonged anticoagulation. Transradial access for coronary procedures dramatically reduces access site complications. We report a rare case of radial arteriovenous f...
We herein report a case in which a right coronary to coronary sinus arteriovenous fistula determined progressive aneurysmatic dilatation of the coronary sinus. Severe compression of the left atrium ensued. This led to a clinical and instrumental picture similar to that observed in severe mitral stenosis.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Arteriovenous fistulas often fail to mature, and nonmaturation has been attributed to postoperative stenosis caused by aggressive neointimal hyperplasia. Preexisting intimal hyperplasia in the native veins of uremic patients may predispose to postoperative arteriovenous fistula stenosis and arteriovenous fistula nonmaturation. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS, & MEASURE...
A case of clinically detectable arterio-venous fistula following coronary angiography by right radial approach is reported. It is a rare complication. It may be clinically detectable only days or weeks following the procedure.
A case with fistulas from both coronary arteries and the bronchial artery to the pulmonary artery is reported. We believe this is the first case report of an uncommon form of complex arteriovenous fistula diagnosed by selective angiography.
A rare aneurysm of a congenital coronary arteriovenous fistula is reported. Echocardiography showed a dilated left coronary and left circumflex artery with normal left anterior descending artery. A dilated structure near the crux was confirmed to be a large aneurysm of circumflex coronary artery on selective angiography. It drained into the posterior right atrial wall. Under cardiopulmonary byp...
