Waters’ variant of the Boneh-Boyen IBE scheme is attractive because of its efficency, applications, and security attributes, but suffers from a relatively complex proof with poor concrete security. This is due in part to the proof’s “artificial abort” step, which has then been inherited by numerous derivative works. It has often been asked whether this step is necessary. We show that it is not,...

abstract in aggregate, active forms of reactive silica with mineral names are sometimes associated with sand and gravel in concrete mixture. alkali hydroxides originated from alkalis in the cement or other resources form an alkaline silica gel with this reactive silica which becomes swallowed and expanded during time causing damage to concrete. there have been growing researches on alkaline r...

In this note, we describe an error in the proof for CLRW2 given by Landecker et al. in their paper at CRYPTO 2012 on the beyond-birthday-bound security for tweakable block ciphers. We are able to resolve the issue, give a new bound for the security of CLRW2, and identify a potential limitation of this proof technique when looking to extend the scheme to provide asymptotic security.

We consider compositional properties of reactive systems that are secure in a cryptographic sense. We follow the well-known simulatability approach of modern cryptography, i.e., the specification is an ideal system and a real system should in some sense simulate this ideal one...

The concrete material presents a different behaviour in compression and in tension. Its tension resistance is, approximately, ten times less than the compression one. So it is very common to see cracks in reinforced concrete structures in service conditions. The deformation field presents a discontinuity in each crack zone. This fact leads to the motivation of conceiving and developing a new se...

Compound motion of double-tamper mechanism causes an impact force on the frame of flatiron-box, which affects the quality of the load when the asphalt paver is running. Different from the previous simplified model, in this paper, the double-tamper mechanism with two parallel slider-cranks is considered. According to the analysis of the structure and principle of the mechanism, and considering t...

Over the past decades, a major part of building infrastructure has aged and is now in need repair. In order to ease repair backlog be able distinguish between urgent long-term needs, it advisable install monitoring system structure. This is, among others, often based on periodical strain or deformation measurements, as they provide direct indication effect external loads structure (crack openin...

We demonstrate how relative equilibria of a vibrating molecule, which are families of principal periodic orbits otherwise known as nonlinear normal modes, can be used to describe the global polyad structure of vibrational energy levels. The classical action integral n(E) computed along these orbits at different energies E corresponds to the polyad quantum number n so that the energy En of diffe...
