The study presented in this article addresses the impact of the 2008 nonpayment policy of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) from the perspective of infection preventionists. With rich qualitative data, it sheds light on the day-to-day impact of this recent health policy on CAUTI prevention.
OBJECTIVE Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the most common type of hospital-acquired infection, and most are associated with indwelling urinary catheters, that is, catheter-associated UTIs (CAUTIs). Our goal was to reduce the CAUTI rate. DESIGN SETTING INTERVENTIONS We retrospectively examined the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of a bundle of four evidence-based interventions upo...
Abstract We show that the triply graded Khovanov–Rozansky homology of knots and links over a field positive odd characteristic p descends to an invariant in homotopy category finite-dimensional -complexes. A -extended differential on discovered by Cautis is compatible with -DG structure. As consequence, we get categorification Jones polynomial evaluated at $2p$ th root unity.
OBJECTIVE Although patients with urinary tract infections (UTIs) are usually managed as outpatients, a percentage of them requires hospitalization. To review risk factors and microbiological characteristics of community-associated UTIs (CAUTIs) requiring hospitalization has been our objective. MATERIAL AND METHODS A prospective observational study was carried out from November 2011 to Decembe...
The convolution ring $K^{GL_n(\mathcal{O})\rtimes\mathbb{C}^\times}(\mathrm{Gr}_{GL_n})$ was identified with a quantum unipotent cell of the loop group $LSL_2$ in [Cautis-Williams, J. Amer. Math. Soc. 32 (2019), pp. 709-778]. We identify basis formed by classes irreducible equivariant perverse coherent sheaves dual canonical cell.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and catheter-associated UTIs (CAUTIs) are the principal hospital-acquired infections. Proteus mirabilis is characterized by several virulence factors able to promote adhesion and biofilm formation and ameliorate the colonization of urinary tract and the formation of crystalline biofilms on the abiotic surface of the urinary catheters. Since, to date, the role of ...
Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) occur in 290,000 US hospital patients annually, with an estimated cost of $290 million. Two different measurement systems are being used to track the US health care system's performance in lowering the rate of CAUTIs. Since 2010, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) metric has shown a 28.2% decrease in CAUTI, whereas the Cen...
