A subjective and incomplete list of interesting and unique features of the deconfinement phase transition is presented. Furthermore a formal similarity of the density matrix of the Aharonov-Bohm system and QCD is mentioned, as well.

We investigate the two-dimensional magnetic operatorHc0,B,β = (−i∇−A) − βδ(.−Γ), where Γ is a smooth loop. The vector potential has the form A = c0 ( −y x2+y2 ; x x2+y2 )

This article concerns the traveling wave solutions of nonlocal delay reaction-diffusion equations without local quasimonotonicity. The existence of traveling wave solutions is obtained by constructing upper-lower solutions and passing to a limit function. The nonexistence of traveling wave solutions is also established by the theory of asymptotic spreading. The results are applied to a food lim...

%'e show that the effects of spin-orbit interaction in disordered conductors are manifestations of the Aharonov-Casher effect in the same sense as the effects of weak magnetic fields are manifestations of the Aharonov-Bohm effect. We propose that, in semiconducting samples, conductance oscillations should occur due to the Aharonov-Casher effect, whose observation would constitute a thousandfold...

We show that when the refractive index of a photonic system is harmonically modulated, the phase of the modulation introduces an effective gauge potential for photons. This effective gauge potential can be used to create a photonic Aharonov-Bohm effect. We show that the photonic Aharonov-Bohm effect provides the optimal mechanism for achieving complete on-chip nonmagnetic optical isolation.

We study the persistent currents induced by both the Aharonov-Bohm and Aharonov-Casher effects in a one-dimensional mesoscopic ring coupled to a sidebranch quantum dot at Kondo resonance. For privileged values of the Aharonov-Bohm-Casher fluxes, the problem can be mapped onto an integrable model, exactly solvable by a Bethe ansatz. In the case of a pure magnetic Aharonov-Bohm flux, we find that...

Building upon recent theoretical proposals for creating an effective gauge field for photons, we experimentally demonstrate the photonic Aharonov-Bohm effect. The effect relies on the nonreciprocal phase acquired by photons during photonic transitions. Our photonic Aharonov-Bohm interferometer is broadly tunable with a contrast ratio above 30 dB, as the operating frequency varies between 8 and ...

in this paper, we study the electronic properties of a concentric triple quantum ring using exact diagonalization technique. the energy spectra and magnetization for a single electron and two electrons, in the presence of an applied magnetic field, are calculated and discussed. it is shown that, for two-interacting electrons, the period of aharonov-bohm oscillations decreases to the half of tha...

We study the time-dependent Aharonov-Bohm effect on the noncommutative space. Because there is no net Aharonov-Bohm phase shift in the time-dependent case on the commutative space, therefore, a tiny deviation from zero indicates new physics. Based on the Seiberg-Witten map we obtain the gauge invariant and Lorentz covariant Aharonov-Bohm phase shift in general case on noncommutative space. We f...
