در طی بررسی‌های مربوط به فون سوسک‌های خانواده‌ی Bruchidae مرتبط با گیاهان تیره‌ی بقولات (Fabaceae) در آذربایجان‌ غربی, نمونه‌هایی از یک گونه سخت‌بال‌پوش از درون نیام‌های گیاه Astragalus caryolobus Bunge جمع‌آوری و به نام Bruchidius plagiatus (Reiche & Saulcy) شناسایی شد. برخی از مشخصات شکل‌شناسی و زیست‌شناسی این گونه ارائه شده است.

نمونه های جمع آوری شده هرباریوم مرکزی ایران نامگذاری شدند. از میان نمونه های جمع آوری شده گونه های  a. juladakensis maassoumi و  a. karl- heinzii maassoumi به عنوان گونه های جدید شرح داده می شوند. گونه های جدید به همراه دیاگنوز و شرح گیاه ارائه می شوند و با نزدیک ترین خویشاوندان خود مقایسه می گردند. نمونه های تیپ در هرباریوم مرکزی ایران نگهداری می شوند.
