Th e object of the sieving process is to separate a mixture of a granulated material into fractions. Each fraction contains particles of similar dimensions. Th e primary object of this research was to determine how the change of sieving amplitude aff ects the particle size distribution and defi nition of optimal fraction for processing of direct expanded extrudates based on corn fl our. Sieving...
Pelletized dosage forms can be prepared by different methods which, in general, are time consuming and labor intensive. The current study was carried out to investigate the feasibility of preparing the spherical pellets of omeprazole by sieving-spheronization. An optimized formulation was also prepared by extrusion-spheronization process to compare the physical parameters between these two meth...
Mesoporous materials have a high potential for a number of different applications in Materials Science such as in molecular sieving, as masks for the formation of nanometre-sized metallic wires, as novel drug-delivery systems or as advanced host systems for catalysis. For many of these applications a thorough understanding of the interaction of guest molecules within the host matrix is required...
ow that some of the general precepts of particle size and shape have been outlined (1) and the all-important topic of powder sampling has been addressed (2), it is appropriate to move into a discussion of the experimental methods used to deduce information about particle size. Analytical sieving is one of the most conceptually simple methods for deducing the particle-size distribution of a powd...
The security of the RSA cryptosystem depends on the difficulty of factoring large integers. The best current factoring algorithm is the Number Field Sieve (NFS), and its most difficult part is the sieving step. In 1999 a large distributed computation involving hundreds of workstations working for many months managed to factor a 512-bit RSA key, but 1024-bit keys were believed to be safe for the...
The cyclic sieving phenomenon is defined for generating functions of a set affording a cyclic group action, generalizing Stembridge’s q 1⁄4 1 phenomenon. The phenomenon is shown to appear in various situations, involving q-binomial coefficients, Pólya–Redfield theory, polygon dissections, noncrossing partitions, finite reflection groups, and some finite field q-analogues. r 2004 Elsevier Inc. Soil incubations are a common practice typically employed in assessing the effect of some treatment on the availability and solubility of phosphorus (P). However, standard sample preparation (drying and sieving) can alter soil chemical and physical properties, resulting in possible changes in P behavior upon soil incubation. Sixty surface soil samples were collected, air dried, and sieved befor...
Recombinant hirudin (lepirudin) is a potent direct thrombin inhibitor that is used particularly for treatment of immune-mediated heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. Because hirudin is almost exclusively eliminated by the kidneys, its half-life is markedly prolonged in patients with severe renal insufficiency. Therefore, these patients are at risk for bleeding, particularly because no antidote is ...
We present the rst implementation of sieving techniques in the context of function elds. More precisely, we compute in class groups of quadratic congruence function elds by combining the Algorithm of Hafner and McCurley with sieving ideas known from factoring. We apply our methods to compute generators and relations of the Jacobian variety of hyperelliptic curves over nite elds.
