For treatment of acute acromioclavicular dislocation we chose operative treatment in which we fixed clavicule to coracoid with a screw. With regard to the clinical results, out of 6 patients who had gone under operation, only one had calcification at coracoclavicular ligament without limitation of motion. There were no serious postoperative complication.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the results from surgical treatment of 84 cases of acute acromioclavicular dislocation, using a posterosuperior access route. METHODS Eighty-four cases of acute acromioclavicular dislocation (grade III in the Allman-Tossy classification) operated between November 2002 and May 2010 were evaluated. The patients' mean age was 34 years. The diagnoses were made using clinical...
Generally, surgical treatment is recommended for Rockwood type 5 traumatic acromioclavicular joint dislocations. Since 1980, the authors have performed the modified Dewar procedure, the modified Cadenat procedure, and anatomical reconstruction of the coracoclavicular ligaments for this injury. The goal of this study was to determine the ideal surgical procedure for acromioclavicular joint dislo...
Fractures of the clavicle and acromioclavicular dislocations are very common injuries when they occur separately. The combination of an acromioclavicular dislocation and a fracture of the lateral third of the clavicle is not rare. However, there are very few reported cases of acromioclavicular dislocations associated with fractures of the middle third of the clavicle; those associated with frac...
OBJECTIVES We evaluated the long-term clinical results of acute complete acromioclavicular dislocations treated with micro-movable and anatomical acromioclavicular plate. METHODS Open reduction and internal fixation was performed using the MAAP in 16 patients (10 males, 6 females; mean age 36 years; range 16 to 63 years) with acute complete acromioclavicular joint dislocation. Radiographic ev...
AIM AND BACKGROUND The surgical treatment for acromioclavicular joint dislocations is recommended for Rockwood's classification types 4, 5 and 6. In this study we evaluate the therapeutic results of the modified Cadenat procedure on type 5 acromioclavicular joint dislocation, and report on a comparative study of the modified Dewar procedure also on type 5 acromioclavicular joint dislocation. ...
A type VI acromioclavicular joint injury with a supracoracoid location of the distal end of the clavicle (VIa) may be associated with low energy injuries and, in association with a clavicle fracture, can successfully be treated with reduction of the dislocation, fixation of the clavicle, and may not require reconstruction of the acromioclavicular ligaments. An infracoracoid location (VIb) is hi...
BACKGROUND Appropriate treatment of acromioclavicular joint dislocation is controversial. Acroplate fixation is one of the most common treatment methods of acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocation. Based on the risk of re-dislocation after Acroplate fixation, we assumed that combined fixation with an Acroplate and a coracoclavicular screw helps improve the outcome. OBJECTIVES The main purpos...
PURPOSE To evaluate the operative findings and postoperative results of one-stage repair on patients with acromioclavicular joint dislocation complicated by rotator cuff tear. METHODS Between 1992 and 1999, one-stage repair was performed on 5 patients with acromioclavicular joint dislocation complicated by rotator cuff tears. Modified Cadenat procedure for acromioclavicular joint dislocation,...
