The next-to-leading order QCD corrections to the production of gluino pairs at the Tevatron are presented in this paper. Similar to the production of squark-antisquark pairs, the dependence of the cross section on the renormalization/factorization scale is reduced considerably by including the higher-order corrections. The cross section increases with respect to the lowest-order calculation whi...

Pair production processes of neutral Higgs particles will allow us to study the trilinear Higgs couplings at future high–energy colliders. Several mechanisms give rise to multi–Higgs final states in hadron interactions. In the present paper we investigate Higgs pair production in gluon–gluon collisions. After recapitulating pair production in the Standard Model, the analysis of the cross sectio...

We present new sets of fragmentation functions for neutral kaons, both at leading and next-to-leading order. They are fitted to data on inclusive K0 production in e+e− annihilation taken by MARK II at PEP ( √ s = 29 GeV) and by ALEPH at LEP. Our fragmentation functions lead to a good description of other e+e− data on inclusive K0 production at various energies. They also nicely agree with the K...

A program for the calculation of the total Higgs production cross section via gluon fusion at hadron colliders including next–to–leading order QCD corrections is presented. It is suitable especially for Standard Model Higgs bosons and the neutral Higgs particles of the minimal supersymmetric extension. The program provides a model–independent calculation for scalar [CP–even] as well as pseudosc...

We investigate in detail the effect of a direct pomeron coupling to quarks on the production of jets in ep scattering with almost real photons. Jet production via a direct pomeron coupling is compared with the resolved–pomeron mechanism. We consider both direct and resolved photoproduction. Rapidity and transverse momentum distributions are calculated and compared with preliminary H1 and ZEUS d...

The influence of strong and electroweak penguin amplitudes in B/B̄ → ππ is investigated in connection with the determination of the unitarity triangle angle α of the CKM matrix. A relation between the observable asymmetry, the angle α, and the penguin amplitude is established. A model calculation of the penguin amplitude shows that the CP asymmetry in B → ππ decays is only mildly influenced by t...

We have calculated jet shapes in low Q2 ep and pp collisions in perturbation theory at order αs for the hard parton-parton processes. For the γp process resolved and direct contributions are superimposed. The dependence of the jet shapes on transverse energy, rapidity, and inner cone extension is studied. The numerical results of the calculation are compared with recent data from ZEUS at HERA a...

We have calculated inclusive one– and two–jet production in photon–photon collisions superimposing direct, single resolved and double resolved cross sections for center of mass energies of the LEP1, LEP2 and NLC range. The direct and single resolved cross sections are calculated up to next–to–leading order. The double resolved two–jet cross section is calculated only in LO with a k factor estim...

A complete next-to-leading order QCD calculation of deep inelastic electron-photon scattering including direct and resolved real photon components is presented. Soft and collinear singularities are extracted using the phase space slicing method. Application of the results for the prediction of singleand dijet cross sections at the LEP e+e− collider are presented, using the Snowmass jet definiti...
