The development of bifunctional chelators (BFCs) which can stably chelate zirconium-89 ((89)Zr) while being conjugated to targeting molecules is an area of active research. Herein we report the first octadentate terephthalamide ligands, which are easily radiolabeled with (89)Zr and are highly stable in vitro. They represent a novel class of chelators, which are worthy of further development as ...
ABSTRACT The phosphonate-substituted zirconium oxo clusters Zr6O2(OBu)12(O3PPh)4 and Zr7O2(OiPr)12(O3PCH2CH2CH2Br)6, with octahedrally coordinated Zr atoms, were synthesized by reaction of zirconium alkoxides with phosphonic acid bis(trimethylsilyl) esters. The basic structural motif are Zr3O(µ2-OR)3(OR)3 units which are connected in different ways. GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT
The exchange of the monocarboxylate ligand of the zirconium methacrylate oxocluster Zr(6)O(4)(OH)(4)(OMc)(12) (OMc = CH(2)=CH(CH(3))COO) with dicarboxylic acids (trans, trans muconic acid and terephthalic acid) leads to porous zirconium dicarboxylates exhibiting the UiO-66 architecture; the mild reaction conditions allow the control of their particle size.
Aluminium based nanostructured materials with additions of 0.5, 1 and 1.5 weight% of zirconium have been produced and sintered using the spark plasma sintering technique in order to promote the nucleation of ZrAl3 platelets. The mechanical behaviour of all these nanocomposites was determined by means of the Small Punch Test. Zirconium additions significantly decrease the mechanical properties o...
Zirconium (Zr) is an element commonly used in dental and orthopedic implants either as zirconia (ZrO2) or in metal alloys. It can also be incorporated into calcium silicate-based ceramics. However, the effects of in vitro culture of human osteoblasts (HOBs) with soluble ionic forms of Zr have not been determined. In this study, primary culture of human osteoblasts was conducted in the presence ...
Relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov (RHB) theory in coordinate space is used to describe the chain of even-even Zirconium isotopes reaching from Zr to the drip line nucleus Zr. Pairing correlations are taken into account by a density dependent force of zero range. For neutron numbers larger than the magic number N = 82 a giant neutron halo outside the core of Zr is observed. It is formed by up to s...
Reaction of the amido-bridged zirconium complex (CpSiMe(2)NSiMe(2)Cp)ZrCH(3) (1) (Cp = C(5)H(4)) with half an equivalent of B(C(6)F(5))(3) or Ph(3)CB(C(6)F(5))(4) afforded the binuclear zirconium complexes [(CpSiMe(2)NSiMe(2)Cp)Zr)(2)(mu-CH(3))][RB(C(6)F(5))(3)] (2a, R = CH(3), 2b, R = C(6)F(5)) with a methyl group as the bridge between the two zirconium atoms. In the presence of one equivalent...
New geological, bulk chemical and mineralogical (QEMSCAN and FEG-EPMA) data are presented for albitite-type uranium deposits of the Mount Isa region of Queensland, Australia. Early albitisation of interbedded metabasalt and metasiltstone predated intense deformation along D2 high strain (mylonite) zones. The early sodic alteration paragenetic stage includes albite, riebeckite, aegirine, apatite...
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to verify the antibacterial performance and cell proliferation activity of zirconium (Zr)-carbon (C)-nitride (N) coatings on commercially pure titanium (Ti) with different C contents. MATERIALS AND METHODS Reactive nitrogen gas (N(2)) with and without acetylene (C(2)H(2)) was activated by Zr plasma in a cathodic-arc evaporation system to deposit either ...
