Volterra series expansions represent an important model for the representation, analysis and synthesis of nonlinear dynamical systems. However, a significant problem with this approach to system identification is that the number of terms required to be estimated grows exponentially with the order of the expansion. In practice, therefore, the Volterra series is typically truncated to consist of,...
For p ≥ 1, taking the p-th root of this sup yields a norm and with this norm H(D) is a Banach space. When p = 2, this is Hilbert space and identifying the Taylor coefficients of such an f with a sequence we obtain an isometry from H(D) onto the classical sequence space l. In addition, there is a natural identification of functions in H(D) with functions in a closed subspace of L(T) by way of th...
The semidiscretization in space of Volterra-Fredholm integral equations (arising, for example, as mathematical models of the spreading of epidemics) leads to large systems of Volterra integral equations. Here, we study inexpensive timestepping methods using certain DQ (= direct quadrature) methods which are employed in a way that exploits the local superconvergence properties of spatial colloca...
Volterra series expansions are widely used in analyzing and solving the problems of non-linear dynamical systems. However, the problem that the number of terms to be determined increases exponentially with the order of the expansion restricts its practical application. In practice, Volterra series expansions are truncated severely so that they may not give accurate representations of the origin...
The aim of the paper is to provide some regularity results for stochastic convolutions corresponding to stochastic Volterra equations in separable Hilbert space. We study convolutions of the form WΨ(t) := ∫ t 0 S(t − τ)Ψ(τ)dW (τ), t ≥ 0, where S(t), t ≥ 0, is so-called resolvent for Volterra equation considered,Ψ is an appropriate process and W is a cylindrical Wiener process. In the paper we e...
In this paper, we study the existence of solutions of some nonlinear Volterra integral equations by using the techniques of measures of noncompactness and the Petryshyn's fixed point theorem in Banach space. We also present some examples of the integral equation to confirm the efficiency of our results.
In this paper we investigate the existence and uniqueness for Volterra-Fredholm type integral equations and extension of this type of integral equations. The result is obtained by using the coupled fixed point theorems in the framework of Banach space $ X=C([a,b],mathbb{R})$. Finally, we give an example to illustrate the applications of our results.
Here, the solution in one, two and three dimensional for the Volterra–Fredholm integral equation of the first kind is obtained in the space L2ðXÞ C1⁄20; T , T < 1. Using a numerical method the integral equation of Volterra–Fredholm becomes a linear system of Fredholm integral equation when that the kernel of Fredholm integral takes a logarithmic form, Carleman function, generalized potential fu...
We consider numerical solutions of a class of nonlinear (nonstandard) Volterra integral equations. We first prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the Volterra integral equation in the context of the space of continuous funtions over a closed interval. We then use one point collocation methods and quadrature methods with a uniform mesh to construct solutions of the nonlinear VIE....
