Emerging Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks (VANETs) are representing the preferred network design for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), mainly based on Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communications (Held, 2007). Future vehicles will be fully networked, equipped with on-board computers with multiple Network Interface Cards (NICs) (e.g., Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS...

This paper investigates the resource allocation problem in device-to-device (D2D)-based vehicular communications, based on slow fading statistics of channel state information (CSI), to alleviate signaling overhead for reporting rapidly varying accurate CSI of mobile links. We consider the case when each vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) link shares spectrum with multiple vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) ...

This paper describes that the stability for vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication in Internet of Vehicles (IoV). The V2V communication is important factors for intelligent transportation system that is fast becoming commercialization. In this paper, we particularly focus on the vulnerabilities of the authentication form used as an essential factor in communication between vehicles. We propose ...

have edited this new book to reflect the present and future challenges in wireless technologies for vehicular ad hoc networks. New technologies are being developed for vehicular ad hoc networks, and these networks provide an efficient method for today's complex vehicle communications. Emerging vehicular ad hoc networks in the forms of Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I)...

Vehicle-to-Vehicle(V2V) communication is a part of the future vehicular network. As the location information of vehicles is broadcasted frequently, there is a demand on privacy protection on this information. In this thesis we defined the requirements on privacy-protection broadcast authentication schemes for V2V communication. We analyzed the existing authentication schemes according to the re...

In this paper, we consider three simple and natural greedy algorithms for the Maximum Weighted Independent Set problem. We show that two of them output an independent set of weight P v2V (G) W (v) d(v)+1 and the other outputs an independent set of weight P v2V (G) W (v) 2 P u2N + G (v) W (u) . Those results are generalization of Tur an's theorem.

Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) network is a promising technology to enhance road safety. It is also the fundamental technology to implement vehicular technology and application such as autonomous driving, firmware over the air (FOTA) for in-vehicle electronic control unit (ECU). However, the IP based on end-host addressing is not well suited for certain vehicular applications. Content-centric network...

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs) have a highly dynamic network topology due to the constant and rapid movement of vehicles. Therefore, communication in VANETs is mostly affected with disruptions and delays as a result of network disconnections and partitions. Moreover, increasing the geographical coverage area for data dissemination while keeping the data-delivery delay low is a challenge. Th...

We describe three in-field data collection efforts yielding a large database of RSSI values vs. time or distance from vehicles communicating with each other via DSRC. We show several data processing schemes we have devised to develop Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) propagation models from such data. The database is limited in several important ways, not least, the presence of a high noise floor that l...
