OBJECTIVES Demonstrate that DNA viremia is common in pediatric sepsis and quantitate its associations with host immune function and secondary infection risk. DESIGN Retrospective analysis of a prospective cohort study. PATIENTS Seventy-three children admitted with sepsis-induced organ failure. INTERVENTIONS None. MEASUREMENTS AND MAIN RESULTS This study was performed as an ancillary inv...

Torque teno virus (TTV) is a non-enveloped human DNA virus isolated by Nishizawa et al. in 1997.1 TTV, recently classified as the Alphatorquevirus genus within the Anelloviridae family by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV), was the first human virus with a single-stranded circular DNA genome to be identified.2 Thus far, five main genetic groups (Groups 1–5) involving at l...

caid et al. showed that the TTV encodes a miRNA in vivo that orque teno virus (TTV) is a non-enveloped human DNA virus solated by Nishizawa et al. in 1997.1 TTV, recently classified s the Alphatorquevirus genus within the Anelloviridae family by he International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV), as the first human virus with a single-stranded circular DNA enome to be identified.2 Thus fa...

Torque teno sus virus (TTSuV), a member of the family Anelloviridae, is a single-stranded, circular DNA virus, widely distributed in swine populations. Presently, two TTSuV genogroups are recognized: Torque teno sus virus 1 (TTSuV1) and Torque teno sus virus 2 (TTSuV2). TTSuV genomes have been found in commercial vaccines for swine, enzyme preparations and other drugs containing components of p...

Humans are frequently infected with three anelloviruses which have circular DNA genomes of 3.6-3.9 kb [Torque teno virus (TTV)], 2.8-2.9 kb [Torque teno mini virus (TTMV)] and 3.2 kb [a recently discovered anellovirus named Torque teno midi virus (TTMDV)]. Unexpectedly, human TTMDV DNA was not detectable in any of 74 chimpanzees tested, although all but one tested positive for both human TTV an...

although the infection of different animals and non-human primates with other members of anelloviridae have already been reported there is no report about infection of animals with torque teno midi virus/small anellovirs (ttmdv/sav). the aim of this study was to detect the virus in domestic village chickens. blood samples were collected from 79 domestic village chickens in isfahan. blood sample...

Using metagenomic approaches, we identified a novel Torque teno virus from Brazilian free-tailed bats (Tadarida brasiliensis) (TT-TbV). The TT-TbV genome and deduced protein sequences share extremely low identity with known anelloviruses. Due to a high degree of phylogenetic divergence, such putative virus could not be allocated into any Anelloviridae genera.
