Recurrent mistakes in the treatment of technological innovation in Brazil are identified. A movement on behalf of technological innovation is proposed, based on: an understanding of what technological innovation is (and is not); appreciation of every relevant component; recognition of its systemic and self-coordinating character; and the establishment of an appropriate support.
