Hyperspectral anomaly detection is one of the main challenging topics in both military and civilian fields. The spectral information contained in a hyperspectral cube provides a high ability for anomaly detection. In addition, the costly spatial information of adjacent pixels such as texture can also improve the discrimination between anomalous targets and background. Most studies miss the wort...

We study the spectral dimensions and asymptotics of Krein-Feller operators for arbitrary finite Borel measures on $\left(0,1\right).$ Connections between dimension, $L^{q}$-spectrum, partition entropy optimised coarse multifractal dimension are established. In particular, we show that upper always corresponds to fixed point $L^{q}$-spectrum corresponding measure. Natural bounds reveal intrinsic...

Variations in the spectral shape of harmonic tone complexes are perceived as timbre changes and can lead to poorer fundamental frequency (F0) or pitch discrimination. Less is known about the effects of F0 variations on spectral shape discrimination. The aims of the study were to determine whether the interactions between pitch and timbre are symmetric, and to test whether musical training affec...

We discuss observational constraints coming from CMB and type Ia supernovae, for the model of accelerated universe produced by gravitational leakage into extra dimensions. Our fits indicate that the model is currently in agreement with the data. We also give the equations governing the evolution of cosmological perturbations. Future observations will be able to severely constrain the model.

A widespread myth asserts that all small universe models suppress the CMB quadrupole. In actual fact, some models suppress the quadrupole while others elevate it, according to whether their low-order modes are weak or strong relative to their high-order modes. Elementary geometrical reasoning shows that a model’s largest dimension determines the rough value lmin at which the CMB power spectrum ...

Our main objective is to improve an operational model for wind-generated surface gravity waves (WAVEWATCH III ®) such that it can accurately predict the attenuation and scattering of waves by interaction with ice in the Marginal Ice Zone (MIZ). The wave model physics developed here will later be part of an operational coupled model system, allowing feedback to ice, ocean, and atmospheric models...

The WAVEWATCH III model (Tolman 1991, Tolman et al. 2002, Tolman 2009) is a phase-averaged wave model solved by integrating the wave action conservation equation. Local rates of change of wave spectral density is determined by advection in four dimensions (two geographic and two spectral dimensions) and source terms representing various dynamic processes, such as energy transfer from the wind, ...

We discuss the effect of the time evolution of extra dimensions on CMB anisotropies and largescale structure formation. We study the impact of scalar fields in a low-energy effective description of a general class of brane world models on the temperature anisotropy power spectrum. We show that when the coupling between these scalar fields and matter evolves over cosmological timescales, current...
