human action recognition is an important problem in computer vision. one of the methods that are recently used is sparse coding. conventional sparse coding algorithms learn dictionaries and codes in an unsupervised manner and neglect class information that is available in the training set. but in this paper for solving this problem, we use a discriminative sparse code based on multi-manifolds. ...

PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES To examine the research literature regarding the effects of exercise on body weight and composition in breast cancer survivors. DATA SOURCES Primary studies in English published from 1989-2004, located through electronic databases, hand searches, and personal contacts. DATA SYNTHESIS Of 1,314 studies screened, 14 met all inclusion criteria. Body weight and composition gen...

Sparse representation presents an efficient approach to approximately recover a signal by the linear composition of a few bases from a learnt dictionary, based on which various successful applications have been observed. However, in the scenario of data compression, its efficiency and popularity are hindered due to the extra overhead for encoding the sparse coefficients. Therefore, how to estab...

Global biodiversity change creates a need for standardized monitoring methods. Modelling and mapping spatial patterns of community composition using high-dimensional remotely sensed data requires adapted methods adequate to such datasets. Sparse generalized dissimilarity modelling is designed to deal with high dimensional datasets, such as time series or hyperspectral remote sensing data. In th...

To investigate land use changes, Qale Shahrokh basin (15098.1 ha area) was selected. Satellite images of Landsat sensors (MSS, TM and ETM+) were used. After improvement and different enhancement analysis of images such as FCC, PCA, the study area was checked using GPS and topographic maps (1:50000) and other information. Land use units were determined using classified random sampling method. Ma...

In this paper, a new method for image denoising based on incoherent dictionary learning and domain transfer technique is proposed. The idea of using sparse representation concept is one of the most interesting areas for researchers. The goal of sparse coding is to approximately model the input data as a weighted linear combination of a small number of basis vectors. Two characteristics should b...

siahe-e-samarghandi is one of the most important cultivars of grapevine (vitis vinifera) in fars province. some problems of this cultivar are its sparse clusters with small berries and berries that are in different stages of growth. foliar application of urea, zinc sulfate, boric acid 4, 3 and 1gl-1, respectively as well as sodium molybdate at the concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 gl-1 were a...

We introduce a new approach to characterise brain tissue microstructure combining diffusion MRI and relaxometry. The tissue is modelled as a composition of water pools with distinct T2 and diffusivities. Mathematically, we establish a blind source separation framework that we solve using sparse component analysis. Results show that this technique is able to extract distinct diffusion and relaxo...

In this paper, we study the behavior of weighted composition operators acting on Bergman spaces defined strictly pseudoconvex domains via sparse domination technique from harmonic analysis. As a byproduct, also prove type estimate for which is adapted to Sawyer-testing conditions. Our results extend work by first author, Li, Shi and Wick under much more general setting.

In general, the factors important for protein crystallization are important for RNA crystallization, but there are additional factors that must be considered in RNA crystallization. Because most methods used to purify RNA denature the RNA, the annealing step is critical. The principal variables in the annealing are the temperature (40—70°C), incubation time at the highest temperature (1—10 minu...
