The complete nucleotide sequence of the 5936 bp cryptic plasmid pFAJ2600 from Rhodococcus erythropolis NI86/21 was determined. Based on the characteristics of its putative replication genes, repA and repB, pFAJ2600 was assigned to the family of pAL5000-related small replicons identified in Mycobacterium (pAL5000), Corynebacterium (pXZ10142), Brevibacterium (pRBL1), Bifidobacterium (pMB1) and Ne...

background: the combustion of sulfur-rich fossil fuels leads to release of sulfur oxide pollution in the environment. in biodesulfurization process, an organism is able to remove sulfur from fossil fuels without decreasing the caloric value of those substrates. the main aim of this research was to design a recombinant microorganism to remove the highest amount of sulfur compounds in fossil fuel...

To guarantee the supply of critical elements in future, development new technologies is essential. Siderophores have high potential recovery and recycling valuable metals due to their metal-chelating properties. Using Chrome azurol S assay, 75 bacterial strains were screened obtain a high-yield siderophore with ability complex metal ions. The production four selected Nocardioides simplex 3E, Ps...

Three bacterial isolates identified as Alcanivorax borkumensis SK2, Rhodococcus erythropolis HS4 and Pseudomonas stutzeri SDM, based on 16S rRNA gene sequences, were isolated from crude oil enrichments of natural seawater. Single strains and four bacterial consortia designed by mixing the single bacterial cultures respectively in the following ratios: (Alcanivorax: Pseudomonas, 1:1), (Alcanivor...

We announce the completion of the genome sequence of a phenol derivative-degrading bacterium, Rhodococcus erythropolis strain CCM2595. This bacterium is interesting in the context of bioremediation for its capability to degrade phenol, catechol, resorcinol, hydroxybenzoate, hydroquinone, p-chlorophenol, p-nitrophenol, pyrimidines, and sterols.

Rhodococcus FMF is a gram-positive bacterium isolated for the first time from soil samples of Tabriz refinery in Iran. This microorganism is able to catabolize dibenzothiophene to 2-hydroxybiphenyl and inorganic sulfur without the destruction of carbon-carbon bonds. Three structural genes, dszA, dszB, and dszC have been characterized and shown to be responsible for this phenotype. In this work,...

We report the 6,548-Mb genome sequence of Rhodococcus erythropolis strain DN1, isolated from the oil-contaminated soil in the Karagandy region of Kazakhstan. The draft genome sequence of strain DN1 might provide new insights into the genetic mechanisms of crude oil biodegradation.

We report the complete genome sequences of 19 cluster CA bacteriophages isolated from environmental samples using Rhodococcus erythropolis as a host. All of the phages are Siphoviridae, have similar genome lengths (46,314 to 46,985 bp) and G+C contents (58.5 to 58.8%), and share nucleotide sequence similarity.

Vitamin D3 (VD3) is a fat-soluble prohormone in mammals. VD3 is inert and must be activated by hydroxylation at the C-25 and C-1α positions to exert its biological activity. We recently accomplished the bioconversion of VD3 to 25(OH)VD3 with a recombinant strain of Rhodococcus erythropolis and found that the permeability of VD3 into the cytoplasm may be the rate-limiting step of 25(OH)VD3 produ...

Solutions of biologically active substances insoluble in water (thiosulfoesters, anthraquinone derivatives, pyrazoline) were obtained using a combined solvent and biogenic surfactants. For this purpose used rhamnolipids, their biocomplex with polysaccharides synthesized by the Pseudomonas SP strain. PS-17, trehalosolipids Rhodococcus erythropolis AU-1 strain, commercial biosurfactant surfactant...
