The frequencies of ABO and rhesus blood groups vary from one population to another. We studied blood group distribution in 120 Nepalese students; 34% were blood group A, 29% group B, 4% group AB and 32.5% group O. The frequency of Rh-negative blood was 3.33% and Rh-positive 96.66%.
The mammalian rhesus (Rh) proteins that carry the Rh blood group antigens of red blood cells are related to the ammonium channel (Amt) proteins found in both pro- and eukaryotes. However, despite their clinical importance the structure of the Rh antigens is presently unknown. We have constructed homology models of the human Rh proteins, RhD and RhAG using the structure of the Escherichia coli a...
methods this prospective observational study was conducted in a tertiary level neonatal intensive care unit, princess esra hospital, deccan college of medical sciences, hyderabad, telangana, india. consecutive intramural and extramural neonates admitted to neonatal intensive care unit with the rh-negative mother’s blood group and hyperbilirubinemia were enrolled. neonates born to rh+ve mothers ...
The implementation of a program on routine antenatal anti-D prophylaxis (RAADP) in the developed world has led to a significant decline in the residual numbers of Rhesus negative women becoming sensitized. However, a significant number of Rhesus D negative women in SSA are not fortunate because of lack of access to prophylactic immunoglobulin D and thus they continue to be affected. The managem...
Abstract Objective The current study aimed to investigate the ABO and rhesus (Rh) blood group frequency in people of District Faisalabad Sheikhupura, Punjab Province, Pakistan. retrospective was conducted on more than thirty thousand including both male female patients admitted Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, Safdarabad Best Faisalabad. Blood samples were taken from each subject subsequently Rh gr...
The test serum for detecting the Rh antigen in the red cells of the human population may be prepared according to the technique originally described by Landsteiner and Weiner (1941) by the injection of red cells from the Rhesus monkey into . guinea-pigs or rabbits. As in other immunological experiments, only a few of the animals thus treated yield a satisfactory anti-serum. Even then, the actio...
The Relationship Between ABO-Rh Blood Types and Disease Severity in Children with COVID-19 Infection
Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate correlation between ABO, Rhesus (Rh) blood type and the disease severity status, pneumonia status in children with COVID-19.
Material Methods: This is a multicenter all 0.05).
Conclusions: In our pediatric population, no difference detected types and/or condition COVID-19 severity.
Clinicians sometimes are confronted with the challenge of transfusing haemorrhaging Rhesus (Rh) D negative patients with Rh D positive blood to save their lives. There are concerns about alloimmunization and future haemolytic disease of the newborn in women of the reproductive age. Another fear is transfusion reaction if they receive another Rh D positive blood in future. We present a 32-year-o...
In humans, NH(3) transport across cell membranes is facilitated by the Rh (rhesus) family of proteins. Human Rh C glycoprotein (RhCG) forms a trimeric complex that plays an essential role in ammonia excretion and renal pH regulation. The X-ray crystallographic structure of human RhCG, determined at 2.1 A resolution, reveals the mechanism of ammonia transport. Each monomer contains 12 transmembr...
BACKGROUND Hemoglobinopathies are a group of inherited disorders of hemoglobin synthesis. It could be formed a fatal scenario in concern of lacking of actual information. Beside this, ABO and Rh blood grouping are also important matter in transfusion and forensic medicine and to reduce new born hemolytic disease (NHD). MATERIALS AND METHODS The spectrum and prevalence of various hemoglobinopa...
