Reaction of the pentacoordinated hydrodiphenylsilyl derivative with water gave [2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl]diphenylsilanol accompanied by both reduction of the phosphine imide moiety and hydrolytic oxidation of the Si-H moiety.
