A combined model on the basis of generalized Field-Colgate and Terlevich-Melnick models are proposed for QSOs. Using LBQS data, it seems that the predictions of the model is confirmed by observations. The behavior of comoving density versus redshift is consistent with LDDE for QSQs. Considering the cosmic evolution of SFR, a unified aspect for origin and evolution of QSOs and ordinary galaxies ...

We present a simple, exact and self-consistent cosmology with a phenomenological model of quantum creation of radiation due to decay of the scalar field. The decay drives a nonisentropic inflationary epoch, which exits smoothly to the radiation era, without reheating. The initial vacuum for radiation is a regular Minkowski vacuum. The created radiation obeys standard thermodynamic laws, and the...

We have investigated the detailed structure of l-plane singularities of scattering amplitude saturating the Froissart bound. A self-consistent analysis of these singularities provides us secondary terms in the Froissart bound. These secondary terms lead to ghosts in the l-plane, which can only be removed by introducing an odderon singularity. Phenomenological implications of this analysis are a...

Within the framework of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking, we consider an electroweak symmetry breaking pattern in which there is no conventional µ term. The pattern is made appealing through realizing it as a low energy effective description of a supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory which is of confinement. Phenomenological implications are discussed.

In this article, I argue that intentional psychology (i.e. the interpretation of human behaviour in terms of intentional states and propositional attitudes) plays an essential role in the sciences of the mind. However, this role is not one of identifying scientifically respectable states of the world. Rather, I argue that intentional psychology acts as a type of phenomenological model, as oppos...

Results are reported on the transverse target-spin asymmetry associated with deeply virtual Compton scattering on the proton, extracted from the data accumulated by the HERMES experiment in the years 2002-2004. By comparing the HERMES results and theoretical predications based on a phenomenological model of generalized parton distributions, a model-dependent constraint on the total angular mome...

Based on a large scale spiking neuron model of the input layers 4Cα and β of macaque, we identify neural mechanisms for the observed contrast dependent receptive field size of V1 cells. We observe a rich variety of mechanisms for the phenomenon and analyze them based on the relative gain of excitatory and inhibitory synaptic inputs. We observe an average growth in the spatial extent of excitati...

One loop contributions to the Higgs boson masses and mixings from the chargino sector consisting of the chargino, the W, and the charged Higgs boson (χ −W − H) exchanges and including the effects of large CP violating phases are computed. It is found that the chargino sector makes a large contribution to the mixings of the CP even and the CP odd Higgs sectors through the induced one loop effect...

The relationship between psychology and phenomenology is not one that is easily traceable (for a discussion on the difficulties of this see, e.g., Graumann 1991). One of the reasons for this opaque matter is that neither psychology nor phenomenology can be defined as one subject area. Both have developed over time with different persons representing varying approaches and others yet again furth...
