Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) is a delayed drug reaction defined by physical signs and laboratory parameters. Mini-DRESS is a new entity, in cases that display some but not all features of DRESS. Cases of mini-DRESS have a less protracted course, and respond well to systemic corticosteroid treatment.

BACKGROUND Conventional pharmaco-cavernosography provides little information on penile venous anatomy, although it is indispensible in documenting veno-occlusive erectile dysfunction (ED). We propose an innovative method, which may provide additional insight into the penile venous structure. METHODS From July 2010 to November 2012, 96 impotent men, aged 20 to 75 years, underwent this method o...

Introduction: Contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) is a new technique for cancer investigations. The application of this to screen the breast would result in contrast improvement different lesions. This can be effectively ensured by use phantoms. Computational phantoms are one ways investigate characteristics received image and thus evaluate whole technique. Aim: aim study validate ana...

A 64-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with slowly increasing paresis of the extremities. Because an intramedullar tumor was suspected, cervical myelography with lateral puncture of C1-C2 was performed. A 22-gauge needle was used, and normal return of clear, colorless spinal fluid was seen. During the uneventful injection of Omnipaque (iohexol, 240 mg I/ml), a longitudinal stripe of c...

A new method for determining the glomerular filtration rate was analysed prospectively. The method uses an x ray fluorescence technique to measure disappearance from the plasma of injected non-ionic iodinated contrast media. Eighty seven patients were studied. Fifty four had an intravenous dose of 100 ml iohexol (Omnipaque) and 33 had 50 ml iohexol. Clearances ofchromium-51 labelled edetic acid...

Previous dye-infusion experiments on cadavers have suggested that the hindfoot should be divided into four muscle compartments including a newly described ‘calcaneal’ element containing quadratus plantae. Since there are no clinical data to support this proposed division, we re-examined the validity of the infusion experiment. We made infusions of dilute Omnipaque at a constant rate into flexor...

CONTEXT Pancreatitis is the most frequent complication of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. Controversy exists whether low osmolarity non-ionic contrast agents lessen the rate of pancreatitis and pancreatic injury. To evaluate we used a canine model to compare pancreatography performed with ionic and non-ionic contrast. DESIGN Dogs were anesthetized and underwent open transduode...

INTRODUCTION One of the challenges of varicocele surgery is to prevent hydrocele formation while still ensuring success. Methylene blue has been used to identify and preserve lymphatic vessels, and venography has been a standard component of sclerotherapy and percutaneous retrograde techniques. The authors have combined both approaches during laparoscopic varicocelectomy and report their experi...

We investigated the optimal method of administering iohexol, which contains 300 mg iodine/ml (Omnipaque 300), a nonionic contrast medium, to maintain adequate renal contrast while reducing artifacts during dynamic CT scanning. In this study, 76 patients with renal disease received 10-50 ml of iohexol as follows: group I (14 patients), 20 ml injected as an intravenous bolus for 5 sec, followed b...
