The development of alternative organic light-emitting diode (OLED) fabrication technologies for high-definition and low-cost displays is an important research topic as conventional fine metal mask-assisted vacuum evaporation has reached its limit to reduce pixel sizes and manufacturing costs. Here, we report an electrohydrodynamic jet (e-jet) printing method to fabricate small-molecule OLED pix...

In the case of active-matrix OLED (AM-OLED) displays, the nonuniformity of gray levels is a severe problem that is caused by the nonuniformity of the mobility and the threshold voltage (VT) of the driver thin-film transistors (TFTs); therefore, many compensation circuits and driving techniques were proposed. However, those proposed pixel circuits usually required more than three TFTs and a numb...

In this paper we propose a new equivalent circuit model of organic light emitting device (OLED). The physicalbased model is considering the effect of high built-in voltage existing between the organic materials and the effect of non-ideal ohmic occurring at the contact between metal and organic. Compared with the measured IV data of RGB OLED samples and the result of conventional OLED model, th...

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) fabricated from all “natural” materials will lead to renewable, sustainable, and potentially inexpensive organic optoelectronics. Achieving this goal will require reimagining all the various aspects of the OLED with natural-based renewable materials. Here, we replace the common substrate, electrode, and hole injection layer in the OLED structure with cellulo...

The organic light-emitting transistor (OLET) is an emerging optoelectronic device having the structure of a thin-film transistor and the capability of light generation [1]. Bright/multicolor OLETs may allow electroluminescent display fabrication with simpler driving circuits. Furthermore, the most advanced OLETs encompass a huge technological potential for the realization of intense nanoscale l...

A new type of flexible organic tribotronic transistor memory is proposed, which can be written and erased by externally applied touch actions as an active memory. By further coupling with an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), a visible and wearable touch monitoring system is achieved, in which touch triggering can be memorized and shown as the emission from the OLED.

A new type of visual display for presentation of a visual stimulus with high quality was assessed. The characteristics of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display (Sony PVM-2541, 24.5 in.; Sony Corporation, Tokyo, Japan) were measured in detail from the viewpoint of its applicability to visual psychophysics. We found the new display to be superior to other display types in terms of spatia...

This work proposes a novel voltage-programming pixel circuit for AMOLED using a-Si:H technology. The proposed 3T1C circuit can stabilize the output current regardless of VTH shift and OLED degradation. Experimental results indicate that the OLED current degradation is less than 3% over more than 16 h of operation.

Organic light emitting diodes (OLED) are promising candidates offering in optical sensor applications to detect different gas compositions and excitable optical marker groups in chemical and biological processes. They enable attractive solutions for monitoring the gas phase composition of e.g., dissolved molecular oxygen (O2) species in bio reactors or excitation of fluorescent markers. In this...

To compare a conventional cathode-ray tube (CRT) screen to organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and liquid crystal display (LCD) screens as visual stimulators to elicit multifocal electroretinograms (mfERGs), mfERGs were recorded from seven eyes of seven healthy volunteers (21 ± 2 years). The mfERGs elicited by a conventional CRT screen (S710, Compaq Computer Co.) were compared to those elicited...
