The nanometer size of gaseous nanobubbles formed in liquids and their physical properties impose limitations to the selection of imaging techniques. The prospectiveex situ imaging method is developed to utilize imprints, which nanobubbles form on immersed polymer surfaces. Polymer nanopattern represent a “snap-shot” record of the nanobubble existence, which can be imagedex post byex situ AFM. T...

The integration of block copolymer (BCP) self-assembled nanopattern formation as an alternative lithographic tool for nanoelectronic device fabrication faces a number of challenges such as defect densities, feature size, pattern transfer, etc. Key barriers are the nanopattern process times and pattern formation on current substrate stack layers such as hard masks (e.g., silicon nitride, Si3N4)....

A pulsed laser is used to produce surface plasmon excitation in a monolayer of gold (Au) spheres to nanopattern a silicon substrate. An electrodynamic model accompanies the experimental data, based on the numerical solution to the complete Maxwell's equations including near- and far-field effects and reflection from the substrate. The Drude-employing finite-difference time-domain method describ...

UNLABELLED A highly sensitive label-free immunosensor for the detection of HIV-1 is newly developed based on localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) method. Uniform nanopattern of circular Au-dots (10-20nm) was fabricated on indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate by simple electrochemical deposition method. The surface of Au nanopattern was modified with HIV-1 neutralizing gp120 monoc...

We study the self-organized ordering of nanostructures produced by ion-beam sputtering of targets amorphizing under irradiation. By introducing a model akin to models of pattern formation in aeolian sand dunes, we extend consistently the current continuum theory of erosion by IBS. We obtain new nonlinear effects responsible for the in-plane ordering of the structures, whose strength correlates ...

A new approach to the generation of nanoparticle arrays in periodic as well as non-periodic fashions has been discovered based on reduction of oxidized nanoscroll/nanoribbon precursors in the transmission electron microscope (carbothermal reduction) or by hydrogen annealing. Arrays consisting of nickel arsenide nanoparticles of size 3-4 nm have been generated.
