In this paper we investigate the semiclassical behavior of the lowest eigenvalues of a model Schrödinger operator with variable magnetic field. An exploratory study of the low-lying eigenvalues of the Wilson-Dirac operator and their corresponding eigen-vectors is presented. Results for the eigenvalues from quenched and unquenched simulations are discussed. The eigenvectors are studied with respect to their localization properties in the quenched approximation for the cases of SU(2) and SU(3).
A new localization set for generalized eigenvalues is obtained. It is shown that the new set is tighter than that in (Numer. Linear Algebra Appl. 16:883-898, 2009). Numerical examples are given to verify the corresponding results.
