We investigate the non-equilibrium quantum dynamics of a canonical light–matter system—namely, the Dicke model—when the light–matter interaction is ramped up and down through a cycle across the quantum phase transition. Our calculations reveal a rich set of dynamical behaviors determined by the cycle times, ranging from the slow, near adiabatic regime through to the fast, sudden quench regime. ...

Rates of photosynthesis, sucrose synthesis, starch accumulation and degradation were measured in sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) and bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) plants under a square-wave light regime and under a sinusoidal regime that simulated the natural daylight period. Photosynthesis rate increased in a measured manner in direct proportion to the increasing light level. In contrast to this ...

The use of growth regulators and light quality change are two methods to improve plant performance. Therefore, a factorial experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design. Factors included three light modes (greenhouse light (control) and LED combination light of white: red: blue as 70: 10: 20 and 40: 40: 20 ratios) and gibberellic acid in four concentrations (0, 20, 40 and 60 mg/l)....

A Arshad F Md Yusoff O Farhadian,

The effects of salinity, temperature, and light conditions on production and development, longevity, survival and sex ratios of the cyclopoid copepod, A. dengizicus were determined. Seven different salinity levels (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 psu), four temperatures (20, 25, 30, 35 °C), three different light intensities (33.3, 85.3, 162.1 μmol photons/ m2/ s) and light regimes (24:0, 0:24, and 12...
