The main purpose of using biometrics is to avoid the risks related to password such as easy to find or Stoll. To make safe and authenticated access control it is true alternatives for passwords and identifiers. In contrast to existing methods, finger knuckle image authentication system employs a low resolution knuckle print images to achieve effective personal identification. In this paper, eff...

Knuckle pads are rare harmless subcutaneous nodules that must be differentiated from joint disease of the proximal interphalangeal or rarely of the metacarpophalangeal joints as well as from other masses of the paraarticular tissues. We present a case of an otherwise healthy 36-year-old woman presenting with bilateral knuckle pads located at the dorsal aspect of the proximal interphalangeal joi...

-In this paper, we investigate a new approach for personal authentication using Finger-Knuckle-Print through a novel texture descriptor, Local Directional Pattern (LDP). The image is encoded with Local Directional Pattern, which enhances the information as each pixel is represented as a binary LDP code. The Finger-Knuckle-Print is divided into smaller areas and LDP histograms are extracted from...

To understand the role of knuckle walking in hominin evolution, we need to better understand behavioral variation in knuckle walking, and specifically whether behavioral similarities between chimpanzees and gorillas are likely homologous. Differences in how the hands of gorillas and chimpanzees contact the ground while knuckle walking have been noted but not quantified: it is widely believed th...

Biometric technologies are automated methods of verifying or recognizing the identity of a living person based on a physiological or behavioral characteristic. Biometrics technology is without doubt a more efficient way of authentication than the more common use of passwords, smart cards, or a combination of the two. Passwords also have expiration dates that require new assignment of passwords ...

Knuckle pads is a syndrome characterized by the presence of multiple nodules located on the extensor side of the interphalangeal or metacarpophalangeal joints. Several conditions can be confused with Knuckle pads. We describe a case of a 47-years-old man who developed multiple bilateral roundish nodules located in the skin over the dorsal and lateral interphalangeal joints in both hands.

The nucleocapsid protein (NC) from the mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV) has been overexpressed in Escherichia coli and purified to homogeneity for structural studies by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The protein contains two copies of a conserved zinc-coordinating "CCHC array" or "zinc knuckle" motif common to the nucleocapsid proteins of nearly all known retroviruses. The resid...
