The two-loop corrections to the electroweak gauge boson quartic couplings, growing quadratically with the Higgs boson mass, are calculated in the Standard Model in the limit of large Higgs mass. The corrections to WWWW , WWZZ and ZZZZ four-vertices are found to be an order of magnitude larger than the two-loop m2H corrections to light fermion and triple gauge boson vertices. For a heavy Higgs b...

This paper shortly reports on the results of Higgs boson searches performed at LEP and Tevatron. No signal is found and limits on the mass and couplings of the Higgs boson are derived. Interpreting the data in the framework of the Standard Model, the 95% C.L. lower limit of 114.4 GeV on the Higgs boson mass is obtained.

It is unlikely that a high statistics study of r-lepton decays will be sensitive to the Higgs boson sector of electroweak physics. A Tau-Charm Factory is an ideal facility for the study of rare deca.ys of the rlepton. At a machine discussed in these Proceedings, one might expect to produce on the order of lo7 r’s per year. It is an interesting exercise to consider whether such a data sample is ...

We quantify the extent to which naturalness is lost as experimental lower bounds on the Higgs boson mass increase, and we compute the natural upper bound on the lightest supersymmetric Higgs boson mass. We find that it would be unnatural for the mass of the lightest supersymmetric Higgs boson to saturate it’s maximal upper bound. In the absence of significant fine-tuning, the lightest Higgs bos...

We search for the production of a heavy W' gauge boson that decays to third generation quarks in 0.9 fb-1 of pp collisions at square root(s)=1.96 TeV, collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We find no significant excess in the final-state invariant mass distribution and set upper limits on the production cross section times branching fraction. For a left-handed W' bos...

We examine in detail radiative corrections to the lightest scalar Higgs boson mass due to the top quark and scalar quark loops in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM). We take into account the nondegenerate state for the top scalar quark masses. In our analysis, the mass matrix of the top scalar quark contains the gauge terms. Therefore our formula for the scalar Higgs boso...

We present an intuitive picture of the chiral symmetry breaking in the NJL and Thirring models. For the current current interaction model with the massless fermion, the vacuum is realized with the chiral symmetry broken phase, and the fermion acquires the induced mass. With this finite fermion mass, we calculate the boson mass, and find that the boson is always massive, and there exists no Gold...

The mass of the W boson is measured at LEP by fully reconstructing the W boson decays. The measurement techniques and systematic uncertainties are presented. The current measurement of the mass of the W boson at LEP yields 80.412 ± 0.042 GeV.

The standard model (SM) predicts the existence of one scalar particle, the Higgs boson (H). The Higgs boson is the only particle of the SM which has not been found until now. Electroweak precision data mainly collected at CERN LEP and SLAC SLC in combination with the direct top-quark mass measurement at the Tevatron would favour a light Higgs boson with a mass below about 200 GeV at the 95% con...
