Camera based systems have been a preferred choice in many motion tracking applications due to the ease of installation and the ability to work in unprepared environments. The concept of these systems is based on extracting image information (colour and shape properties) to detect the object location. However, the resolution of the image and the camera field-ofview (FOV) are two main factors tha...

Table 1: Parameter Settings for Learning RBMs. RMSprop parameters chosen to match [5]. SGD parameters chosen to match [26]. SSD and A-SSD stepsizes and geometries chosen to match [1]. The stepsize on W is given for the RBM. λ corresponds to the damping factor in the history terms in the ADA and RMS methods. Projections refers to the numbers of projections used in the Random SVD algorithm [9] in...

M. Shahrouzi,

Earthquake time history records are required to perform dynamic nonlinear analyses. In order to provide a suitable set of such records, they are scaled to match a target spectrum as introduced in the well-known design codes. Corresponding scaling factors are taken similar in practice however, optimizing them reduces extra-ordinary economic charge for the seismic design. In the present work a ne...

Please read: I will try to post here a few solutions (or answers). The new solutions will be added to this same file. They might come with no explanation, just the “answer”. If yours do not match mine, you can try to figure out again. (Also, read the disclaimer below!) You can come to office hours if you want explanations for the unexplained answers. Be careful that just because our “answers” w...

In this paper, we present an efficient IP packet forwarding methodology and architecture. This is achieved by partitioning the lookup table into the smaller ones for each output port and allowing a forwarding engine to process them in parallel. This effectively reduces the complexity of finding “the longest prefix match” problem to “the first prefix match” problem.

We view match as an operator that takes two graph-like structures (e.g., XML schemas) and produces a mapping between the nodes of these graphs that correspond semantically to each other. Semantic schema matching is based on the two ideas: (i) we discover mappings by computing semantic relations (e.g., equivalence, more general); (ii) we determine semantic relations by analyzing the meaning (con...
