Objectives. Hemangiopericytoma is a rare tumor entity deriving from pericytes. Less than 5% of hemangiopericytoma occur in the nasal cavity and are characterised by a rather benign nature with low tendency of metastasis. However, as the recurrence rate in the literature ranges from 9.5% to 50%-depending on the length of followup-a radical surgical resection is considered as the gold-standard tr...

Introduction: A hemangiopericytoma is a rare soft tissue tumor of vascular origin representing 1% of all vascular neoplasms. It is derived from a pericyte of Zimmerman, which is a modified smooth muscle cell that surrounds the small blood vessels. Hemangiopericytoma can occur wherever there are vascular capillaries. In this paper, we report a case of hemangiopericytoma in retroperitoneal space....

Hemangiopericytoma is a vascular tumor that is believed to arise from the Zimmermann's pericytes, smooth muscles cells localized around the blood vessels. This tumor presents as a slowly enlarging painless mass with a clear predilection for the musculoskeletal system. The aim of this work was to introduce a peculiar case of a tongue hemangiopericytoma managed by conservative surgical treatment.

Background & objective: Hemangiopericytoma is an uncommon vascular tumor derived from the pericytes of Zimmermann. . The most common location of the tumor is pelvic retroperitoneum and musculoskeletal system of the lower extremities. It is rarely seen in the head and neck area. In addition, only 0.8% to 3% of all orbital tumors and less than 5 % of primary sinonasal tumors are primary hemangiop...

Hemangiopericytoma is a rare vascular tumor observed mostly in adults. It usually presents with a painless slowly enlarging mass. The infantile type with much rarer occurrence has a different course compared to adults. Very few case reports have been described in the literature with disease onset in the infancy. The first reported case of infantile hemangiopericytoma of limbs from the Middle ...

Hemangiopericytoma is a vascular tumor that is rarely seen in the nose and paranasal sinuses. Biological behavior of these tumors is not completely known, and their natural history is not predictable. This case report presents a patient with a sinonasal hemangiopericytoma. Diagnosis and management of these uncommon tumors is discussed.

BACKGROUND Meningeal hemangiopericytoma is a rare, aggressive CNS tumor that tends to invade locally, metastasize, and has a high rate of recurrence. HIV classically increases the risk of 3 AIDS-defining malignancies: Kaposi's sarcoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and invasive cervical cancer. More recently, considerable interest has been paid to the link between HIV and a wider range of non-AIDS-def...

A case of rare intranasal hemangiopericytoma in a 68-year-old male was reported with typical histological and ultrastructural findings. The lesion clinically resembled a nasal polyp. The experience in the present case raised the need for differential diagnoses of vascularised spindle cell tumors and of traditional hemangiopericytoma in soft tissue.

in the present study, we describe a subcutaneous mass between the left flank and hip in a 2-year-old male great dane dog. histopathologically, cells appeared to be spindle shaped around a central capillary together with a fingerprint pattern. immunohistochemical analysis presented that the neoplastic cells expressed vimentin, but did not stain for s-100 protein. on the basis of histopathology a...
