A thermoviscoelastic body model is formulated, that comprises the nonlinear hyperbolic heat conductivity equation. A dependence of the thermal flux relaxation time on the magnitude of heat flux and temperature has been built. The examples of solving particular problems are given. The calculation results are compared to the experimenlal ones.
CD34 is a transmembrane phosphoglycoprotein used to selectively enrich bone marrow in hematopoietic stem cells for transplantation. Treating rats with CD34+ cells derived from human umbilical cord blood before or after heat stroke has been shown to promote survival. We investigated whether CD34- human placenta-derived stem cells (PDMSCs) could improve survival following heat stroke in rats. Rat...
Heat stroke is a life-threatening illness that is characterized clinically by central nervous system dysfunction, including delirium, seizures, or coma and severe hyperthermia. Rapid cooling and support of multi-organ function are the most effective clinical treatments, but many patients experience permanent neurological impairments or death despite these efforts. The highest incidence of heat ...
We study the heat generation in ferromagnet-quantum dot-ferromagnet system by the non-equilibrium Green's functions method. Heat generation under the influence of ferromagnet leads is very different compared with a system with normal metal leads. The significant effects in heat generation are caused by the polarization angle θ associated with the orientation of polarized magnetic moment of elec...
Dantrolene is effective in the management of malignant hyperpyrexia. Due to the similarities of malignant hyperpyrexia and heat stroke, we have investigated the effect of dantrolene on heat stroke in sheep. Our study indicates that dantrolene pretreatment decreases the extent of heat stroke signs and some of the induced changes in enzymes and hormones. These results indicate that dantrolene may...
Heatstroke is the most severe form of the heatrelated illnesses and is caused by an excessive rise in deep body temperature due to thermoregulatory failure. It is characterized primarily by hyperthermia usually with core temperature above 40.6o C (105o F), central nervous system dysfunction, metabolic derangement and coma. Heat stroke is the least common but most serious form of heat disorder. ...
SUMMARY A review of heat stroke and its complications is presented. The etiology, physiology, clinical signs, secondary complications, diagnosis, treatment, necropsy results and prevention of heat stroke are discussed. A clinical case is then presented to illustrate the disorder of heat stroke. INTRODUCTION Adult dogs can survive in an environment in which there are wide variations oftemperatur...
