The increased safety (Ex e) motors are designed for safe operation in the zone 1 and 2 hazardous areas. The present paper describes the significant design parameters and successful testing of Ex e high tension (HT) induction motor rated 970KW/6.6KV/18 pole/ 3Phase/ 50Hz as per IS/IEC 60079-7 standard. The comparison of some useful design parameters is also given between safe area motor and haza...

Background and aims: Chemical materials are very useful in our lives. Laboratory technicians expose to different chemicals. Long term repeated exposures to hazardous chemicalsmay lead to chronic effects. In this research the risk of occupational exposure to hazardous chemicals in laboratories of educational and therapeutic centers of Qom University of medical sciences were assessed.   Methods...

answer. However, there is no reason why reactions cannot be carried out on such devices. Since it does not require the investment of a large chemical plant, the reactions can be performed where required, thus reducing the need to transport hazardous chemicals across countries. Since many reactors can be constructed on a single chip, and many chips located in the same area, it is evident that th...

Nowadays, the necessity of safeguarded environments is stronger than ever. The defence of public areas against terroristic threats requires intelligent security assistance systems that comprise state-of-the-art surveillance technology to localize persons with hazardous materials. The recent progress in the detection of hazardous materials by a new generation of chemical sensors leads to an incr...

Wandering is a difficult-to-manage behavior problem for individuals with cognitive impairments that can jeopardize safety if an individual enters a hazardous area or becomes lost. This study investigated the effects of a cloth barrier on entry into an unsafe area. The cloth barrier reduced entry into the restricted area and had high treatment acceptability.

The western Mediterranean region often suffers from the devastating effects of flooding, caused by enormous rain accumulations that sometimes resemble values produced tropical systems. Despite climatic and social relevancy this type episodes, there are some fundamental questions would still be difficult to answer today, for example: where within more cases recorded? or, which were most potentia...

AIMS Limited data are available about whether rural-urban migration, often characterized by exposure to urban life stress and a reduction in social network and support, can affect the prevalence of illicit drug use and hazardous/harmful drinking. The purpose of our study was to examine the prevalence of these risky behaviours among Thai young adults and to describe their association between the...

Toxicology research in the nanotechnology area has focused primarily on human inhalation, ingestion or dermal exposure. Less research has been published on the impact to ecological systems resulting from a release of nanomaterials. Environmental laws such as CERCLA ("Superfund") address the release of "hazardous substances" by obligating the party releasing the substance to (a) report the relea...
