This paper reviews the implementation of an on-site comparison of quantum Hall resistance standards and their scaling to other values. This comparison, organized by the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM), is registered as BIPM.EM-K12 and has for objective the verification of the international equivalence of the representation of the ohm between National Metrology Institutes within...

We have investigated hall effect on YBa2Cu3-xMxO7-δ (M=Ni, Fe) bulk samples, with dopant amount 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.045 for Ni and 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.03 for Fe, with magnetic field (H=2.52, 4.61, 6.27 kOe) perpendicular to sample’s surface with constant current 100 mA. Our study shows that as both dopants increases, TC decreases and it decreases faster by Ni . In these ranges of dopant and magnetic field the Hall...

Several types of commercial 100resistors can be used with the cryogenic current comparator to maintain the resistance unit, derived from the quantized Hall effect (QHE), and to disseminate this unit to laboratory resistance standards. Up until now, the transport behavior of these resistors has not been investigated. Such an investigation is of importance for carrying out comparisons that are cl...

This article presents design and testing of a microfluidic platform for immunoassay. The method is based on sandwiched ELISA, whereby the primary antibody is immobilized on nitrocelluose and, subsequently, magnetic beads are used as a label to detect the analyte. The chip takes approximately 2 h and 15 min to complete the assay. A Hall Effect sensor using 0.35-μm BioMEMS TSMC technology (Taiwan...

We analyze the Landau problem and quantum Hall effect on S 3 taking a constant background field proportional to the spin connection on S 3. The effective strength of the field can be tuned by changing the dimension of the representation to which the fermions belong. The effective action for the edge excitations of a quantum Hall droplet in the limit of a large number of fermions is obtained. We...

I elaborate on the earlier suggestion that the model describing the plateaux transition in Integer Quantum Hall effect scales to a particular point on the line of critical points of a theory with a higher symmetry.
