in this paper, the large amount of sedimentation and the resultant shoreline advancements at the breakwaters of beris fishery port are studied. a series of numerical modeling of waves, sediment transport, and shoreline changes were conducted to predict the complicated equilibrium shoreline. the outputs show that the nearshore directions of wave components are not perpendicular to the coast whic...

it is well known that, contaminant transportation is a major problem in coastal zones and has to be faced when coastal structures are being planned. sea pollution not only causes environmental damage, but also impacts quality and population of sea resources. oil is the most important pollutant, pollutants emanating from industries, ships, drilling and exploration in the seabed, ship sewage, tox...

Biodiversity and community structure of macrofauna of the intertidal sandy beach at Chabahar Bay were studied for a period of ten months in 2007. A total of 32 species were observed and identified in this study so that polychaete with 16 species was numerically dominant. The results showed changing densities were influenced by monsoon season so that maximum density (1935.47 ind/m2) was observed...

Abstract In the present study, sampling and analysis of size-fractionated suspended particulate matter (SPM) in coastal waters of Chabahar Bay have been done for the first time. Sampling has been conducted on December 25 of 2018 from 5 stations in different locations of the Bay in order to evaluate the effects of natural and human activities on SPM mass and composition. With an overall average...

Mangrove ecosystems help mitigate climate change, are highly biodiverse, and provide critical goods and services to coastal communities. Despite their importance, anthropogenic activities are rapidly degrading and deforesting mangroves world-wide. Madagascar contains 2% of the world’s mangroves, many of which have undergone or are starting to exhibit signs of widespread degradation and deforest...
