in order to evaluate the effect of foliar application of micro nutrients on physiological growth indices and total dry matter yield of forage corn. field experiment was conducted in 2006 at bersian village isfahan. a randomized complete block design with four replications was used. plant treated with 8 foliar application treatments (fe, zn, cu, mn, fe + mn, cu + zn, fe + mn + cu + zn and contro...
Mn was an important alloying element used in Al-Mg-Mn alloys. However, it had to be limited to a low level (<1.0 wt %) to avoid the formation of coarse intermetallics. In order to take full advantage of the benefits of Mn, research was carried out to investigate the possibility of increasing the content of Mn by studying the effect of cooling rate on the formation of Fe- and Mn-rich intermetall...
The growth kinetics of ferrite during intercritical annealing steel has been investigated using in situ high energy X-ray diffraction with a specially designed furnace allowing highly quantitative measurements phase volume fractions. Kinetics have obtained at 730?C, 750?C and 775?C different ternary Fe-C-X (where X : Mn, Ni, Mo Cr) alloys quaternary Fe-C-1Mn-1Cr (wt.%) alloy. results were compa...
In the title compound, (C(8)H(20)N)[Mn(C(22)H(18)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(2)][Fe(CN)(6)]·2CH(3)OH·2C(2)H(5)OH or [NEt(4)][Mn(3-Meosalophen)(H(2)O)(2)](2)[Fe(CN)(6)]·2CH(3)OH·2C(2)H(5)OH, the asymmetric unit consists of one half of an [NEt(4)](+) cation disordered around a twofold axis, the [Mn(3-Meosalophen)(H(2)O)(2)](+) coordination cation, one half of a C(2) symmetric [Fe(CN)(6)](3-) anion and disor...
metals bioaccumulation in five organs of cirrhinus mrigala , labeo rohita and catla catla captured from three industrial and sewage polluted downstream sites (shahdera = b, sunder = c and balloki = d) were compared with a non-industrial upstream site (siphon = a) during high (post monsoon) and low (winter) flow seasons of river ravi. mean concentrations of metals were significantly higher in ...
Manganese (Mn) is an essential metal required for normal homeostasis. Humans chronically exposed to high Mn levels, however, may exhibit psychomotor signs secondary to increased brain Mn. As Mn and iron (Fe) share several cellular membrane transporters, decreased Fe levels resulting from Fe deficiency or anemia lead to increased brain Mn deposition. Conversely, decreased Mn levels are associate...
Iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn) are essential nutrients for plants. Application of high levels of either Fe or Mn is often accompanied by relatively low levels of uptake for the other nutrient. The antagonistic relationship of these nutrient elements may occur either during absorption by roots or during translocation from roots to shoot. A greenhouse study was carried out to study the effect of so...
We propose that the apparent catalytic inactivity of Mnand Fe-substituted superoxide dismutases (SODs) reflects E°s that are either lower (Fe-sub-(Mn)SOD) or higher (Mn-sub-(Fe)SOD) than those of native Feor Mn-SODs. In support, we show that the E° of Fe-sub-(Mn)SOD (Fe substituted into Mn-SOD protein) is -240 mV vs NHE, almost 0.5 V lower than our E° of 220 mV for Fe-SOD. The E° of Fe-sub-(Mn)...
