BACKGROUND Flow-diverting stent (FDS) has been suggested as an effective intracranial aneurysm treatment. However, the effects of FDS on collateral branches of an aneurysm parent artery still remain unknown. Thus, the present study aimed to comprehensively evaluate the effects of placing a FDS in the intracranial collateral artery, using a miniature pig animal model. MATERIAL AND METHODS Ten he...

Functional Dependencies (or simply FDs) are by far the most common integrity constraint in the real world. When relations are incomplete and thus contain null values the problem of whether satisfaction is additive arises. Additivity is the property of the equivalence of the satisfaction of a set of functional dependencies (FDs), F, with the individual satisfaction of each member of F in an inco...

INTRODUCTION Ductoscopy is a low invasive method enabling the diagnostics of intraductal proliferative lesions in breasts. Fiberoptic ductoscopy (FDS) is important in the diagnosis of patients with pathological nipple discharge. There are attempts to apply FDS in patients with breast cancer without the presence of nipple discharge. AIM To assess fiberoptic ductoscopy in the diagnostics of bre...

The purposes of our study were to correlate ultrasonographically measured and joint angle estimated excursions of the flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS) and flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) tendons of the hand and to estimate the relative motion of FDS and FDP while gripping cylinders of standard diameter in normal human subjects. Thirty wrists from 15 human subjects were imaged with an ultra...

BACKGROUND The flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS) and flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) are critical for finger flexion. Although research has recently focused on these tendons' coactivity, their contributions in different tasks remain unclear. This study created a novel simultaneous approach to investigate the coactivity between the tendons and to clarify their contributions in different task...

The flow-diverting stent (FDS) has been recognized as an effective treatment for intractable and complex aneurysms. However, after implantation, FDSs have been associated with a higher incidence of complications such as aneurysm ruptures, distal brain hemorrhages, ischemic events, stent migration or shortening, brain tissue embolisms and in-stent stenosis. In this study, a review of the literat...

We describe a case of the filarial dance sign (FDS) in the epididymal region of a 22-year-old migrant worker from India who presented with a tender right scrotal swelling. Sonographic examination revealed multiple cystic lesions in the paratesticular region. The FDS was visualized within one of the cystic lesions. FDS is diagnostic of lymphatic filariasis in the appropriate clinical context.

This study was undertaken with the main aim of determining the trends in the number of family doctors' (FD), gender and educational structure, working status and the number of patients per FD between 1995 and 2013. As the main source of data collection served the Croatian Health Service Yearbooks and Croatian Health Insurance Fund (CHIF) databases on practices and FDs contracting in 2013. Obtai...

Functional Dependencies (FDs) play a key role in many fields of the relational database model, one of the most widely used database systems. FDs have also been applied in data analysis, data quality, knowledge discovery and the like, but in a very limited scope, because of their fixed semantics. To overcome this limitation, many generalizations have been defined to relax the crisp definition of...

Although there is a rich body of research on dependency theory, only few results concerning simple functional dependencies (FDs) have been published. In this paper, the following key results regarding simple FDs are shown. First, given an acyclic set F of simple FDs there exists exactly one canonical cover for F . Second, this uniquely determined canonical cover can be computed via transitive r...
