We construct a continuous family of new homogeneous Einstein spaces with negative Ricci curvature, obtained by deforming from the quaternionic hyperbolic space of real dimension 12. We give an explicit description of this family, which is made up of Einstein solvmanifolds which share the same algebraic structure (eigenvalue type) as the rank one symmetric space HH. This deformation includes a c...
A compact quasi-regular Sasakian manifold M is foliated by onedimensional leaves and the transverse space of this characteristic foliation is necessarily a compact Kähler orbifold Z. In the case when the transverse space Z is also Einstein the corresponding Sasakian manifold M is said to be Sasakian η-Einstein. In this article we study η-Einstein geometry as a class of distinguished Riemannian ...
We review the finding that the general solution of many physically relevant (bosonic) Einstein-matter systems in the vicinity of a cosmological, i.e. space-like, singularity exhibit a remarkable mixture of chaos and symmetry. On the one hand, the asymptotic behavior, as one approaches the singularity, of the general solution is found to be describable, at each (generic) spatial point, as a bill...
The notion of quasi-Einstein metric in physics is equivalent to the notion of Ricci soliton in Riemannian spaces. Quasi-Einstein metrics serve also as solution to the Ricci flow equation. Here, the Riemannian metric is replaced by a Hessian matrix derived from a Finsler structure and a quasi-Einstein Finsler metric is defined. In compact case, it is proved that the quasi-Einstein met...
It is of fundamental interest to study the geometric and analytic properties of compact Einstein manifolds and their moduli. In dimension 2 these problems are well understood. A 2-dimensional Einstein manifold, (M, g), has constant curvature, which after normalization, can be taken to be −1, 0 or 1. Thus, (M, g) is the quotient of a space form and the metric, g, is completely determined by the ...
The classical Bohr inequality says that |a+b| ≤ p|a|+q|b| for all scalars a, b and p, q > 0 with 1 p + 1 q = 1. The equality holds if and only if (p− 1)a = b. Several authors discussed operator version of Bohr inequality. In this paper, we give a unified proof to operator generalizations of Bohr inequality. One viewpoint of ours is a matrix inequality, and the other is a generalized parallelogr...
In this note we consider multi-dimensional Hartman almost periodic functions and sequences, defined with respect to different averaging sequences of subsets in R or Z. We consider the behavior of their Fourier-Bohr coefficients and their spectrum, depending on the particular averaging sequence, and we demonstrate this dependence by several examples. Extensions to compactly generated, locally co...
A parametrization of the Bose-Einstein correlation function of pairs of identical pions produced in hadronic e+eannihilation is proposed within the framework of a model (the T-model) in which space-time and momentum space are very strongly correlated. Using information from the Bose-Einstein correlations as well as from single-pion spec tra, it is then possible to reconstruct the space-time ev...
In this paper we examine homogeneous Einstein–Weyl structures and classify them on compact irreducible symmetric spaces. We find that the invariant Einstein–Weyl equation is very restrictive: Einstein–Weyl structures occur only on those spaces for which the isotropy representation has a trivial component, for example, the total space of a circle bundle.
