The ovicidal activity (type 3 effect) of fungi Pochonia chlamydosporia (VC1 and VC4 isolated) and Paecilomyces lilacinus (PL1) on Taenia saginata eggs was compared in an experimental trial. T. saginata eggs were fixed onto Petri dishes containing 2% water-agar (2% WA) and fungal isolates, and onto Petri dishes without fungus as control. The ovicidal activity of these fungi was evaluated after b...

saprolegnia is one of? the? ?most important agents decreasing the eggs survival rate in sturgeon hatcheries. there are some chemical substances for controlling the fungal infection of eggs. in this study, an attempt was made to introduce a ?germ negative bacterium, pseudomonas aeroginosa (ptcc1430)(persian type culture collection) as a biocontrol??ling agent of? ?water mold. saprolegnia was iso...

Water fungi and fungus-like organisms as a biological factor of ecological water systems have significant influence on the environment and its modification. They decompose necrosis substrates found in water bodies. Fungi also can act as facultative parasites and then frequently occur on their hosts. The main aim of the present study is to investigate which of the fungi and straminipiles can gro...

The authors investigated mycoflora developing on the eggs of three species of the percid fish. At total of 45 aquatic fungi (including 26 as parasites or necrotrophs) were noted. Pythium capillosum is a new record for Poland. The highest number of fungus species developed on eggs of all percids in water from the Biala river, which had the highest content of biogenic compounds.

The effects of soil management systems on root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne incognita) eggs and gall incidence on tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) and cucumber (Cucumis sativus) following tomato were evaluated. Soil was collected from a replicated field experiment in which six management systems were being assessed for vegetable production. Soil management systems were conventional production, or...

Filtrates from nematode-parasitic fungi have been reported to be toxic to plant-parasitic nematodes. Our objective was to determine the effects of fungal filtrates on second-stage juveniles and eggs of Heterodera glycines. Eleven fungal species that were isolated from cysts extracted from a soybean field in Florida were tested on J2, and five species were tested on eggs in vitro. Each fungal sp...

background: fascioliasis is a zoonotic disease caused by the liver fluke fasciola hepatica . drug resistance, high costs of treatment and economic losses in meat production have emerged the need of alternative control measures into consideration. the aim of this study was to evaluate the in vitro ovicidal activity of paecilomyces lilacinus fungus on f. hepatica eggs. methods: p. lilacinus isola...
