this paper presents time domain fundamental solutions for the extended biot's dynamic formulations of two-dimensional (2d) unsaturated poroelasticity. unsaturated porous media is considered as a porous media in which the voids are saturated with two immiscible fluids, i.e. liquid and gas. at first, the corresponding explicit laplace transform domain fundamental solution is obtained in term...
In this Letter we show how nontrivial forms of spatially localized oscillations or breathers can occur in two-dimensional excitable neural media with short-range excitation and long-range inhibition. The basic dynamical mechanism involves a Hopf bifurcation of a stationary pulse solution in the presence of a spatially localized input. Such an input could arise from external stimuli or reflect c...
Abstract. Homogenisation theory reveals that long one-dimensional waves propagating in a medium with spatially periodic wave speed can behave like dispersive waves in an appropriately homogenised medium. However the precise time and length scales over which this dispersive behaviour is a good approximation are not clear. This paper describes what happens in a specific case when the sound speed ...
We study theoretically and experimentally the modulational instability of broad optical beams in photorefractive nonlinear media. The angular dependence of the growth rate of periodic perturbations is calculated. Our findings are confirmed by experimental measurements on a strontium barium niobate photorefractive crystal.
the objective of this study was to produce fish peptone from tuna (thunnus tonggol) viscera, by alcalase. response surface methodology (rsm) was employed for optimizing the temperature and ph. hydrolysis was done in different tempratures (50-65˚c) , ph (8-8. 5) and selected 13 treatments. samples with higher value of protein were used instead of the standard peptones which applied in commercial...
Electromagnetic fields and media can be compactly represented by applying the four-dimensional differential-form formalism. In particular, classes of linear (bi-anisotropic) media can be defined in terms of the medium dyadic mapping between the electromagnetic two-forms. As a continuation to the process started by medium dyadics satisfying linear and quadratic algebraic equations, the class of ...
The topological complexity inherent to all porous media can impart complicated transport dynamics under steady flow conditions. Recently, it has been established [2] that such topological complexity imparts ubiquitous and persistent chaotic advection via a 3D fluid mechanical analogue of the baker’s map. In the presence of molecular diffusion, chaotic Lagrangian dynamics are well-known to impar...
