The Indian species of Closterocerus Westwood, 1833 (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Eulophidae: Entedoninae) are reviewed; eight included which two described as new: C. pakyongensis sp. nov. and junubi One species: longiscapus (Bouček, 1986), is recorded from Uttar Pradesh for the first time. An identification key to occurring in India also given.
Although proteins in the green fluorescent protein family (GFPs) have been discovered in a wide array of taxa, their ecological functions in these organisms remain unclear. Many hypothesized roles are related to modifying bioluminescence spectra or modulating the light regime for algal symbionts, but these do not explain the presence of GFPs in animals that are non-luminous and non-symbiotic. O...
Palynofacies analyses of the strata penetrated by TTtex-1 Well were carried out with aim investigating stratigraphic sequence to establish palynostratigraphic zones, relative age and paleoenvironment deposition. Sixty-two ditch cutting samples within interval 2179 – 3523 m analyzed. The use acid in sample preparation for palynofacies used. result produced relatively low abundant occurrences pol...
Between January and August 2002, a total of 74 fishes belonging to nine species (Alburnus caeruleus, Barbus luteus, B. sharpeyi, Carassius auratus, C. carassius, Ctenopharyngodon idella, Cyprinus carpio, Hypophathalmichthys molitrix Liza abu) were collected from three fish farms south Baghdad. Twenty-six parasites observed. They following : Three protozoa ( Ichthyophthirius multifiliis , Trichot...
We describe watershed-scale habitat associations of three Cantharellus species with respect to stand age. During the 1998 autumn fruiting season we collected chanterelle sporocarps from 18 forest stands in and adjacent to the H.J. Andrews experimental forest in the central Cascade Mountains of Oregon. Sampled stands represented two age categories: old growth ( approximately 350+ y) and 40-60-y-...
The diversity and abundance of parasites vary widely among populations of the same host species. These infection parameters are, to some extent, determined by characteristics of the host population or of its habitat. Recent studies have supported predictions derived from epidemiological models regarding the influence of host population density: parasite abundance and parasite species richness a...
In taxonomic accounts, three species of Myotis have been traditionally reported to occur on the island of Taiwan: Watase's bat (M. formosus watasei Kishida), the Formosan broad-muzzled bat (M. muricola latirostris Kishida) and the Formosan mouse-eared bat (M. adversus taiwanensis Linde). The discovery in 1997 of an unknown taxon not fitting to the description of any of these species encouraged ...
