We find the universal module w(M) for functions (that need not be invariants) of finite matroids, defined on a minor-closed class M and with values in any module L over any commutative and unitary ring, that satisfy a parametrized deletion-contraction identity, F (M) = δeF (M r e) + γeF (M/e), when e is neither a loop nor a coloop. (F is called a (parametrized) weak Tutte function.) Within the ...

a module $m$ is said to be coretractable if there exists a nonzero homomorphism of every nonzero factor of $m$ into $m$. we prove that all right (left) modules over a ring are coretractable if and only if the ring is morita equivalent to a finite product of local right and left perfect rings.

The Gorenstein projective modules are proved to form a precovering class in the module category of a ring which has a dualizing complex. 0. Introduction This paper proves over a wide class of rings that the Gorenstein projective modules form a precovering class in the module category. Let me explain this statement. There are two terms of mystery, “Gorenstein projective modules” and “precovering...

A new kind of fuzzy module over a fuzzy ring is introduced by generalizing Yuan and Lee's definition of the fuzzy group and Aktaş and Çağman's definition of fuzzy ring. The concepts of fuzzy submodule, and fuzzy module homomorphism are studied and some of their basic properties are presented analogous of ordinary module theory.

In this paper we introduce a generalization of M-small modules and discuss about the torsion theory cogenerated by this kind of modules in category . We will use the structure of the radical of a module in  and get some suitable results about this class of modules. Also the relation between injective hull in  and this kind of modules will be investigated in this article.   For a module  we show...

In this thesis, we construct an algebraic framework for analyzing committee elections. In this framework, module homomorphisms are used to model positional voting procedures. Using the action of the wreath product group S2[Sn] on these modules, we obtain module decompositions which help us to gain an understanding of the module homomorphism. We use these decompositions to construct some interes...

We consider the assembly map for principal bundles with fiber a countable discrete group. obtain an index-theoretic interpretation of this homomorphism by providing tensor-product presentation module sections associated to Miščenko line bundle. In addition, we give proof Atiyah’s L2-index theorem in general context flat finitely generated projective Hilbert C∗-modules over compact Hausdorff spa...

A directed graph has a natural Z-module homomorphism from the underlying graph’s cycle space to Z where the image of an oriented cycle is the number of forward edges minus the number of backward edges. Such a homomorphism preserves the parity of the length of a cycle and the image of a cycle is bounded by the length of that cycle. Pretzel and Youngs [1] showed that any Z-module homomorphism of ...

Let $R$ be a ring and $M$ a right $R$-module. We call $M$, coretractable relative to $overline{Z}(M)$ (for short, $overline{Z}(M)$-coretractable) provided that, for every proper submodule $N$ of $M$ containing $overline{Z}(M)$, there is a nonzero homomorphism $f:dfrac{M}{N}rightarrow M$. We investigate some conditions under which the two concepts coretractable and $overline{Z}(M)$-coretractable...
