At the Sidi Bouzid area located in Central Tunisia, Cenomanian-Turonian reservoir rocks are well outcropping, especially in the Jebel el Kébar and Meloussi areas. The present work confirms that these carbonate intervals constitute the lateral equivalent of the Early-Middle Turonian Biréno and Late Turonian-Coniacian Douleb reservoir Members which are included within the pelagic marls of the Tur...

Ectaetia capdoliensis sp. n., first Cretaceous and oldest representative of the scatopsid subfamily Ectaetiinae, is described from the Late Albian / Early Cenomanian amber of southwestern France. This fossil demonstrates the remarkable morphological stability of these flies since at least the mid-Cretaceous. It suggests the presence of rotten wood under wet palaeoenvironment for the correspondi...

We describe the partially preserved femur of a large-bodied theropod dinosaur from the Cenomanian "Kem Kem Compound Assemblage" (KKCA) of Morocco. The fossil is housed in the Museo Geologico e Paleontologico "Gaetano Giorgio Gemmellaro" in Palermo (Italy). The specimen is compared with the theropod fossil record from the KKCA and coeval assemblages from North Africa. The combination of a distal...

A new genus and species of leptopodid bug, Grimaldinia pronotalis Popov & Heiss is described and illustrated from Burmese Middle Cretaceous (Albian-Cenomanian) amber originating from the northern Myanmar's Kachin State. This is the second finding of Leptosaldinae (Leptopodidae), after Poinar published on Palaeoleptus burmanicus from Burmese amber in 2009.

Analysis of the distribution of major components and heavy metals in a section of post-Jurassic deposits of southern Hess Rise (Deep Sea Drilling Project Site 465), the results of processing analytical data by factor analysis, interpretation of information on mineralogy and lithology of sediments, and evaluation of rates of component accumulation enable distinction of the main stages in the geo...

Herein we describe two new tribosphenic mammals from the Cedar Mountain Formation of Emery County, Utah, USA. The fossils occur in a narrow stratigraphic interval near the top of the unit (Mussentuchit Member) and date to approximately the Early–Late Cretaceous boundary (early Cenomanian, ~97 Mya). The specimens were recovered from screen-washing bulk rock samples. Both taxa are based on isolat...

A new genus and species of ibis fly is described from an isolated wing in amber from the Late Albian-Early Cenomanian of Charentes, southwestern France. Galloatherix incompletus gen. et sp. n., is the first Athericidae fossilized in Cretaceous amber, and only the eighth Mesozoic species. It adds to the diverse aquatic and semiaquatic paleobiota already identified from Charentese amber.

In the Batna Mountains, Cenomanian Marnes de Smail Formation yield fossiliferous deposits mostly dominated by bivalves. Thirty-five bivalve species were identified, belonging to nine orders, 19 families and 26 genera. Five of them are mentioned for first time from study area (i.e., Nucula ? cf. margaritifera Douvillé, Barbatia (Barbatia) aegyptiaca Fourtau, Cucullaea trigona Seguenza, Arctica i...

A suite of outcrop samples from the Cauvery Basin belonging to mudrock-claystone dominated Karai Formation were analysed for nannofossil biostratigraphy in two newly measured sections at and Garudamangalam. The age Section is interpreted as early Albian Turonian, whereas Garudamangalam late Cenomanian. ‘BC’ zones Bown et al. (1998) are applicable both sections, Cenomanian Turonian ‘UC’ Burnett ...

The Mishrif Formation represents a carbonate succession that deposited in major parts of the Arabian Plate during Cenomanian stage. formation is rich fossils including foraminifera, rudists, and algae. This study includes determination biozones biostratigraphic limits three boreholes sections (Cenomanian) from Majnoon Zubair oil fields southern Iraq within Mesopotamian Basin. A new scheme intro...
