A novel technique for a self-equalized distributed amplifier is presented by showing the analogy between transversal filters and distributed amplifier topologies. The appropriate delay and gain coefficients of amplifier circuit are obtained by a Fourier expansion of the raised cosine spectrum in the frequency range of 0-40GHz.

In this work, a single-frequency fiber amplifier with output power of 703 W was demonstrated at 1,064.4 nm in an all-fiber configuration. Cascaded Yb 3+ -doped structure different dopant concentration and hybrid 915/976 pump scheme were employed scaling stage to improve the gain saturation for higher transverse mode instability threshold. An overall optical efficiency 67.5% achieved maximum M 2...

Renewable energy sources are being widely used for Distributed Generation (fuel cells, solar panels, Wind power generators etc..,) because of their advantages. But they produce a very low output voltage. To interconnect a low-dc-voltage to residential loads a special voltage matching converter is required. This paper presents a back to back connection of cascaded quasi-Z-source network based st...

This study demonstrates the design and testing of a reconfigurable cascaded time amplifier (TA) that enables a reduction in the output offset. By testing the polarity of the output offset time caused by process variations in each stage and then reconfiguring the inter-stage connections, we find that the total output offset time can be reduced dramatically. The results of a SPICE simulation of a...

This paper presents an improved linearity variable-gain amplifier (VGA) in 0.18-µm CMOS technology. The linearity improvement is resulted from employing a new combinational technique, which utilizes third-order-intermodulation (IM3) cancellation mechanism using second-order-intermodulation (IM2) injection, and intermodulation distortion (IMD) sinking techniques. The proposed VGA gain cell co...

Semiconductor lasers are ideal sources for efficient electrical-to-optical power conversion and for many applications where their small size and potential for low cost are required to meet market demands. Yellow lasers find use in a variety of bio-related applications, such as photocoagulation, imaging, flow cytometry, and cancer treatment. However, direct generation of yellow light from semico...

144606-7171-IJET-IJENS © December 2014 IJENS I J E N S Abstract— This paper shows the design of a broadband low noise amplifier (LNA) for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The proposed LNA uses cascode configuration technique followed by an inductive inter-stage network to realize the flat gain throughout the UWB band. The inductive inter-stage network is cascaded to a common source amplifier ...

This paper presents a novel variable gain amplifier (VGA) design which is applied in the automatic gain control (AGC) loop of DVB-T/H receivers. The VGA composed of three cascaded tunable gain stages to provide a 70 dB dynamic range with 2 dB gain steps. Each gain stage is based on a digital variable gain amplifier (DVGA) which is composed of a plurality of gain blocks (GBs) and a fully differe...

We have designed a process-insensitive preamplifier for an optical receiver, fabricated it in several different minimum feature sizes of standard digital CMOS, and demonstrated design scaleability of this analog integrated circuit design. The same amplifier was fabricated in a 1.2 μm and two different 0.8 μm processes through the MOSIS foundry [1]. The amplifier uses a multistage, low-gain-per-...

This brief proposes a fully dynamic discrete-time (DT) Σ ADC using correlated level shifting (CLS)-assisted floating inverter amplifier (FIA) with sampling noise cancellation (SNC) technique. The CLS-assisted FIA improves gain single-stage configuration, which has lower input-referred than the cascaded one. In combination proposed SNC, contribution of 1st-stage integrator can be minimized. We a...
