Biometric systems based upon finger vein images have been shown to be vulnerable to presentation attacks. In this supplement, we detail a variety of methods extending local binary patterns (LBP) which can be used to distinguish between fake and real finger vein images in terms of description and implementation / experimentation parameters used.

Let M be a matroid. When M is 3-connected, Tutte’s WheelsandWhirls Theorem proves that M has a 3-connected proper minor N with exactly one element fewer than M unless M is a wheel or a whirl. A formal theory based on a binary operator of directional associative relation is constructed in the article and an understanding of an associative normal form of image constructions is introduced.
